This is the cutest little "hole in the wall" cafe just outside Artarmon Station. I drink Earl Grey Tea, rather than coffee, and the water was served boiling, as it should be (often coffee shops serve tea too cold). The food selection looks great, from starters to main meals, lunch and dinner, and snacks. I had a Blueberry Ricotta Muffin, which was all kinds of sweet, moist decadence.
The ambience was great, most people sitting outside on communal tables under shades. It seems to be a hangout (at least on week-ends) for locals catching up, or powering their Internet business.
Definitely ask for light refreshments and cakes etc if that's what you're looking for. The menu seems to cover the main meals, but there are definitely treats available that aren't on the menu.
Service was fantastic. Really friendly and casual. The staff couldn't do enough for me. Even providing extra hot water for my tea because I asked for a mug with the teapot...
Read moreWe had brunch on recent Saturday at this popular cafe near Artarmon station and ordered their two signature dishes i.e. the hash pull-pork w/ sourdough toast and fried eggs while second dish was benedict eggs with hollaindaise sauce, spinach and butter croissant. Both dishes are quite hearty and decent, full of good nutrition. We love the egg benedict better since the pull pork was a bit too sweet for our taste-buds.
Prices are quite steep but they use good ingredients so not too bad. Their coffee / cappucino was decent as well. You cannot expect much ambience since the place was quite small and located in a busy small lane packed with Japanese restaurants, supermarkets and cafes. The customer service from staff members were a bit minus since they were too busy to even properly greet us and take our order. However, at least you can pay with credit cards with no surcharge, including Amex card which is quite decent and rare...
Read moreJust wow! We were pleasantly surprised at how amazing the food here is. It’s definitely not your ordinary breakfast! We had A01 (Crispy Rice). and A06 ( Spaghetti with Chilli Prawns in Aglio e Olio Pasta). The servings looked so big that my husband and I thought we couldn’t possibly finish them; only to be proven wrong by our squeaky clean plates by the end of the meal 🤣. The food looks as good as it tastes so we were very happy. The food is a bit on the expensive side for breakfast but we definitely do not mind paying more for something that good— an explosion of textures and flavour! Yum!
We were served by Hassan who was very attentive and had really good customer service. This kind of service made our breakfast even better. We will definitely be back.
P.S. We went back today and had the lobster pasta and pesto pasta with burrata. It was so creamy and delicious. I only managed to take 1 photo as I just had to tuck in...
