We was just here 3mins ago, but didn’t have any food , there are two reasons I’m not recommend this place, even 1 star is more than I can give. They need cash only, but there is no ATM machine around there in 2km. I know we should prepare the money before we there, but you need cash only, and no ATM around?? I even can accept they charge some extra money for paying by card, but there is no option, maybe they really need cash for get waved for tax, even it illegal in whole Australia, but it is their choice. When we entry there and ask them friendly for is there any table available for now? The staff in the counter was like we owned him some money and should be grateful for let us walk in there, and said if you want BBQ you have to finish 7:00pm, and it was 6:15 already. And we want to wait because we were thinking maybe the food is extremely delicious there, we wait for almost 10mins and a few staffs were around and no one clean the table for us, then how can we finish before 7:00pm? And the staff in the counter again talk to us rudely and say we can not clean the table for now, we are short of staff. Alright, If your guys don’t want us to be your customer, you can tell us straight away before we go inside instead of let us in and treated us in this ridiculous way. If you don’t need we to come and pay for the money, please let us know, and there is not only one yakiniku Japanese store in Sydney, your guys don’t need to be that arrogance. Any we, it‘ just opinion for that place, maybe lots of people had wonderful experience there, I wish I ‘m not the only one waste almost 45mins there and get a bag of anger then go other place, that’s why I left this review here. To be honest, I have been in Australia for almost 10 years and met lots of restaurants before, but this one is the extremely bad place I have ever seen. Any way it is a new experience for me to know not all the restaurants owners wants to make there...

Been here multiple times over many the last few years, the food is great and the portions are generous. The only downside is the owner (the elderly man) is extremely rude and provides terrible service, this is over many visits too. Was ok with ignoring his attitude, but one time when booking for a large group, some miscommunication must have occurred when booking online as we booked for no BBQ however he insisted we did, when we definitely did not (we also repeated this on the phone at the end as the owner’s English isn’t too good). When we arrived for our booking and told him we didn’t want BBQ he got extremely vocal and upset, berating us for not specifying beforehand when we did double confirm. Have stopped going because of it. I have seen the owner yell at other customers, he has no patience for non-Japanese speaking people and will actively antagonise some guests at very minor requests e.g. asking if there’s a table available, asking for different seats when led to a table. Once I noticed he overcharged our table and refused to budge even though the menu pricing printed and on chalk boards/taped up were cheaper. The other wait staff and kitchen staff are very friendly and...

I visit the restaurant for more than 20 yrs and know the boss has his own character. I am still going back because of the quality of food and the price is reasonable. You probably will find better Japanese BBQ elsewhere these days. I was really upset of what the boss did and write this review as his attitude is getting worse especially towards kids. The restaurant was full house and was already noisy. My son was using a plastic cup and banging the table. The boss walked to him and took the cup away from him. First reaction of my son was shocked and upset. If you read until now, you probably should say that I should control my own kid and I just want to say he is a 11mths old baby. The noise in the restaurant is probably louder than what a baby can make Do you have to do that or can take the matter to the adult instead? I wouldn't be going back to this restaurant anymore. Bad service and an...

A Hidden Gem for Yakiniku Lovers! If you're a fan of high-quality Japanese yakiniku, you absolutely have to check out this hidden gem. Tucked away from the main hustle and bustle, this small yet cozy restaurant serves up some of the best yakiniku in town. While the decor is simple, the food more than makes up for it. The meat quality is outstanding, especially the premium Wagyu beef and beef tongue, which are absolute must-tries. It's clear that they focus on serving top-notch ingredients at an affordable price, which makes it an even better find. It’s no surprise that this is one of our favourite go-to spots for a casual, delicious meal. Whether you're a yakiniku enthusiast or just looking for a great meal, this place is a true gem. Highly recommend it!

A no frills yakiniku restaurant in the hear of Artarmon. The feeling you get as you walk in is that the restaurant focuses on the quality of the ingredients rather than a fancy shop fitout. Meats offered are typically what you would find at a yakiniku with various cuts of Wagyu beef, some pork and chicken and seafood. The key is that the meat doesn't come out frozen like other yakiniku places meaning that the ingredients are freshly prepared. My go to is definitely the beef tongue as it is cut thick and is the only way they should be served to appreciate the full texture of the tongue. The portioning here is sufficient and I'd say if you spend $40-$50 pp, you won't go home hungry!

One of the OGs of Yakiniku in Sydney! The owner continues to be hands on and you will see him preparing dishes at the front of the shop and directing or telling his staff off in true old school Japanese style! Restaurant is packed today on a Sunday compared to the restaurant next door which was empty! People don’t come here for the service or ambience!! But the food quality is definitely on par with the pricing. However what is disappointing and annoying is they this place is still “cash only” even when it is 2022 and even the local CBA bank has closed down! Please do the right thing and update your processes! We want this place to still be around in 20yrs time!
