There was some legitimate tension in the air as the kitchen staff kept yelling at the wait staff that the kitchen needs to be shut down for 30 minutes to wait for customers to finish what's on the train? I didn't really understand what was happening, but didn't appreciate that we weren't allowed to order anything for 30 minutes considering what was on the train was noticeably old and stale.
We only ate what was on the train and every single dish minus a fresh batch of sauced up fried chicken was stale. The rice was hard, dry and stale.
One of the staff was exceptionally rude as well, she spoke to us like we were children. Giving us instructions to wait to be seated and repeating it to us twice with some attitude like were didn't understand the first time? We also asked this same person for a soy sauce top up as the one on our table was empty. She acknowledged and then proceeded to not do anything about it. We had to ask someone else. When we finished, we got up and put our hand up for a plate count, we got this girl's attention who was literally standing around doing nothing and she proceeded to point at someone else for us to get their attention instead.
I don't normally leave a review unless it's really bad and the reason why I am leaving this review is because for what i'm currently going through... I don't know any other way of putting this... My only meal yesterday was here at Hero Sushi Wetherill Park and a couple hours after this meal I have had to visit the toilet at least 16 times so far due to a churning stomach, gaseous bloating and non-stop explosive exodus of you-know-what. I'm Vietnamese, my stomach can handle a bit of damage, so whatever it is that has made me like this... must be real dirty.
TL;DR: Overpriced, bad service, abysmally stale food, and left here with a churning stomach and explosive runs (think of a water shotgun that then turns into a water...
Read moreWhere do I begin… I’m actually offended at the level of service/ quality of the food from this so-called sushi train restaurant. I have been here many many years prior and didn’t like it then but thought to give it another go. A huge mistake! Firstly, the colour coding for pricing is extremely and intentionally confusing. I asked the lady working there regarding this because not only did the colours not match up but the plates also had a different colour sticker which prompted me to ask the staff member what colour do I look at and she rudely replied that I look at the colour of the plate. Secondly, I was too scared to ask questions so didn’t even know what I was eating. I grabbed a WHITE plate thinking it would be $5 for some measly pieces of COLD sweet and sour chicken which to my surprise turned out to be $13. Their premium range is the BLACK plates which go for $15. When I told the staff member why is it $13 for a non-black plate, she said that the white plate is the same price. They are purposely ripping people off for very old, not nice food. Don’t waste your time or money at this place! You’re better off getting a whole wrap for $13 which will make you full than buying food that has been sitting there for days...
Read moreI have been going here for 2 years, and yet there are many days where you go to this Hero Sushi and the atmosphere is amazing, there are many selections on the sushi train, and the sushi has great taste and freshness. However, there are also many days where you go to this Hero Sushi and the atmosphere is neutral, there are few selections on the sushi train, and the taste is disgusting and bland. It’s as if you test your luck and hope that the day is good enough so you can look forward to the restaurant being positive on the day instead of negative, and I really don’t like to stop visiting this place as on positive days their sushi is amazing and you leave with satisfaction. Unfortunately, this has caused me and my family to be completely turned off and no longer visiting this place as a whole, which was a complete letdown as we had hope for this place. If you guys improve and strive to make sure that every single day is positive, it would mean a lot, especially to customers who have been coming to your...
