Great bakery! When they say it's something... you can taste it. And whoever's at the till is friendly, helpful and personable.
For example my wife and I tried their Cinnamon and Raisin scroll. The bake on it was wonderfully golden. The butter flavour was aromatic and nutty. Cinnamon radiating like a summer glow with plump juicy raisins for little sugar bombs throughout each flaky delectable bite.
And that's just ONE item!
We also tried their Pear and Ginger cake... just simply magnificent. It was the right mix of spice and aromatics and sweetness. In addition, there was a molasses or treacle flavour in it, that when baked creates such a chemistry of caramel meets liquorice like notes. Mouth feel was moist and chewy in the best way. Was not too sweet and you got this very delicate hint of that most exotic of sugary perfume-like cardamon.
Looking at their items on display, everything looked so well baked and delectable. It made me want to buy one of everything and stopped only because I'd be decimating my waistline.

Read moreThis little bakery on the main street of Katoomba seems to have a big reputation. The small space was absolutely packed and people weaving in & out non stop. There is a selection of freshly baked breads, pies, sweet & savoury pastries & cakes. The chunky beef pie was delicious, the only downside was that the pastry was a bit thick & soggy on the bottom. The churros was great - light & fluffy. Absolutely loved the chocolate hazelnut cake - so decadent & delicious & the apple & pear cake was also a hit & must. Got some sourdough to go and so glad I did. They are made the proper way, not just a sour taste added to it. It was dense yet fluffy, nutty & had a great crust. Service can be a bit short tempered but you have to cut them some slack when they seem to be run off their...
Read moreAwful experience. Me and my husband who were visiting the area had the worst service. There was a small queue and the woman serving was friendly to everyone, even to a sweet girl who wanted to drop off her CV. I was already a little wary as I heard racism was prevalent in the ages but thought no way in 2025 at a tourist attraction. When it was my turn, the woman gave me a look of disgust, asked me abruptly what I wanted and when I asked her what pies were on offer she looked at me, pointed to a sign and didn’t say a word. This is the same woman who was laughing and joking with all other previous and may I add non south Asian customers. I shared I found her mannerisms intimidating and rude and she laughed me out the store. I was so upset by...
