Hongfa Chinese BBQ Dee Why — Restaurant in Sydney

Ok, I took my family there last night, April 10, 2021. Overall the food is good, but where I am extremely disappointed and angry is when you order a whole duck (family of 5) you don't get all of it. I only realized after that we didn't the meaty breast. I eat duck very often and all over the world. I didn't say anything at the time as we had a few dishes so by the time I got to the duck I assumed the kids had taken the non-boney parts. But on asking they all thought the other did... As they didn't. So it wasn't served.

Moral of the story is to be very aware so that they don't keep the good bits because you are non-asian or think you won't notice...Trust me this happens. I assume they sell those pieces to other orders and you have paid for it...I have photos too of what a whole duck looks like and what this place serves in same style.

Unfortunately for them, I won't go there ever again and I suggest to you to be very aware of you take away orders too.

The delivery is terrible and took 2 hours from ordering online to receiving dinner. When I called at one hour they said the driver is leaving now which then meant my dinner was driving around to other deliveries for an hour before getting to me. It was Mother's Day night and they had advertised this on their FB, so if they were planning for a busy night why did you not put more delivery drivers on to account for this.

The food is actually great when you get it quickly not late which makes things soggy. The beef and black bean is great and if you want something spicy choose a Szechuan dish.

Food wise, fantastic, but service wise, not sure where the problem was. Sign on door seeking wait service staff, but problem appeared to be in the back kitchen. I didn't ask how long it might be and waited outside for what I thought was a reasonable amount of time. Then I waited inside for approximately the same amount of time. Soy sauce chicken, boneless & skinless, was the fastest dish - I thought the Chinese Broccoli would have been faster than it was. Food quality is...
