The burgers are quite good but the prices have been pushed up constantly. Eg The Head Stockman that used to already cost a whopping $17 now costs $20. This is way too much for a burger, guys, and the burgers aren’t that good that they warrant gourmet prices. You’re going to loose business.
UPDATE: I read Stockman’s reply below. I am very concerned that the business is unable to accept positive criticism that will affect their future business. The attitude in the reply is quite frankly not the response that a mature business that respects the community would have.
The fact remains: $20 for a burger is simply too much. You do not offer anything that is exceptional that would warrant your pricing (e.g. grass fed only beef with no hormones, etc.).
Your competitors in very close proximity provide similar or better for less cost, which will ultimately lead to your demise. I suggest that you take the feedback on board, put an effort into finding more cooperative suppliers, and look to making your offering more economical. Or, decide perhaps to focus solely on gourmet offerings if this is the segment in which you want to position yourself along with the respective pricing.
For your info, I have not been a loyal, happy customer for 3 years but have visited you 4x over the past 4 months only. This is because your prices are exaggerated but we did so anyway because we wanted to support local businesses during these tough times. This support will definitely end now.
Please don’t equate the locals’ current generosity and understanding with an unlimited opportunity to pass on exorbitant costs. The community is struggling financially too from the same issues and hiking up prices to this degree shows a lack of respect for the community and a one-sided expectation.
Ultimately, the bottom line counts and you must learn to get your costs under control if you want to stay in business longer term.
The feedback provided was supposed to help you to gauge the sentiment and adjust accordingly, which would be the appropriate reaction. I hope that you learn how this works and that the community can continue to enjoy your offering along with the respect from you for...
Read moreWent there today after driving past it many times , and always like to check out Burger joints which I have not been to. Having been involved in a couple of successful burger joints I always like to see what other people are up to. I was expecting great things however came away pretty disappointed after paying $22 a cheese bacon burger , fries and milk shake. The young lady who took the order was very pleasant and competent and certainly was good at her job. I was expecting good things after paying out $ 22 which is really pretty expensive , considering the cost of burgers chips and drink at other very good burger joints would cost you around about $15 - 16 . The meal after about ten minutes , however the burger was cold and very over cooked which meant it was very dry , and really lacked taste , the patty itself was also pretty small and was not very substantial. The fries were Macca's type very thin which again was a disappointment , surely a burger joint should be serving good size fries and not shoe string one's . The dipping sauce mayo and truffle was the most exciting thing out of all the food . The Caramel milk shake was good. Very disappointing and sorry will not be going back there. Especially not when been charged $22 for pretty sub standard food. Will be going back to my favorite Burger joint , Benbry Burgers at Manly , excellent burgers , good size fries , where a combo meal of burger , chips drink and dipping sauce can be had for only 10 -12 dollars nearly half the price compared to...
Read moreTried Stockmans in the old shop a few years ago when they first opened but I had a stone in the burger patty (burger was replaced). Haven't been back since. Decided to give it a second chance but this time the service was poor. Their website menu has a Junior Stockman burger with Fries for $10. It was not available on the DoorDash app so I had to phone for a pre-order and I need to pick up instead of doing a delivery through DoorDash (The alternative suggestion by them was call DoorDash and ask them for a discount, huh?). Arrive to pickup the order and they asked $8 for the Junior Stockman. The price doesn't seem right so I questioned if that is the Junior Stockman with fries deal @ $10 as per their menu (Junior Stockman on the menu doesn't have a standalone option btw). She told me it doesn't come with fries and they don't have such deal, it's $4 for the extra fries. I pulled up their website on the phone to show them as evidence. Another girl on the counter quickly replied and stopped short with " there is a new menu and the website is not updated yet". Not a single apology was made, and I was made to feel I was in the wrong the whole time with their dismissive tone. I ordered and waited for the extra fries for $4 anyway. It was not a good experience and a waste of time. Will not get a 3rd chance from me and I will stick to my Originals Burger Co or Two...
