Holy fudge, I recently had the misfortune of dining at Guzman y Gomez, and my experience was nothing short of disastrous from start to finish. As someone who occasionally enjoys the convenience of fast food, I was expecting a quick, hassle-free meal with some decent Mexican flavors. Oh my days. Instead, I endured one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever encountered. If I could give this place zero stars, I absolutely would.
First off, the moment I walked in, I was struck by the complete lack of organization and professionalism. The layout of the restaurant was chaotic, and it seemed like no one knew what they were doing. The menu board was partially lit, with several letters flickering or completely out, making it difficult to read. Despite it being a peak meal time, there were only a couple of employees visible behind the counter, and neither of them seemed particularly interested in taking orders or assisting customers.
I stood at the counter for nearly ten minutes before anyone acknowledged me, and even then, the acknowledgment was a half-hearted grunt from an employee who looked like they would rather be anywhere else. The cashier’s uniform was dirty, and their name tag was missing, which didn’t help in creating a good first impression. When I finally placed my order, the cashier was inattentive and got it wrong twice. I had to repeat myself multiple times, and each time, they seemed more irritated than the last.
Fricksake, While waiting for my food, I took a look around the dining area, and what I saw was alarming. The floors were sticky with spilled soda and littered with discarded napkins and wrappers. Several tables had not been cleaned, with remnants of previous meals still sitting there, attracting flies. The trash bins were overflowing, and the smell was nauseating. I decided to check the restroom, hoping for a bit more cleanliness, but it was even worse. The restroom smelled terrible, the floors were dirty, and there was no toilet paper or soap. It was clear that cleanliness was not a priority at this establishment.
When my food finally arrived, after what felt like an eternity, I was hoping that at least the meal would make up for the terrible service and unhygienic conditions. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The burrito I ordered was cold and looked like it had been thrown together in a rush. The tortilla was soggy, the rice was undercooked, and the chicken was dry and flavorless. It was evident that no care had been taken in preparing the food. The nachos were equally disappointing – they were soggy, undercooked, and lacked any seasoning. To top it off, the soda I got was flat and tasted off. I couldn’t help but wonder how old the syrup in the...
Read moreWe used to eat here regularly but after our recent experience (05/04/20) we won't be returning. We ordered food at 522 via menulog to be delivered at 630. Our food arrived cold with one warm drink instead of two. The docket said it was tagged at 528 and our delivery arrived at 631. When we called about the order they said the driver was late which wasn't true and even if it was the food should be remade instead of sending it and when we asked for actual fresh food with our missing item we were refused as they were "too busy". Even if the driver was late (which they were not) it doesn't explain the temperature of the drinks or food as we live very close to this branch and one minute wouldn't make a drink that warm or the chips and cheese grow a thick film on them. Not sure if we're more disappointed in the food or the owner/manager's approach of how this was handled by talking over us, palming us off rudely to another staff member (at least cover the phone if you're talking about us), blaming menulog or refusing to fix it. Serving food that old is a huge health breach and is so unsanitary that we felt we needed to leave a review. They have lost our business permanently and it's a shame as we loved the food but given the fact they didn't want to fix the problem let alone help with a refund is no way to conduct a business. At least own the fact you sent stale...
Read moreWhen I went to this establishment, I was super surprised by how awful the customer service as well as the food was here. I ordered one of them burritos and when the person that was making it finished making it, I saw them do a "taste test" on it, this is when I witnessed him take a huge bite out of my burrito. This man was short and had crazy socks on with a backwards hat. So I asked the till worker what his name was and she said Yohan or something like that. When I received the food there was a bite mark that looked like it had been attempted to cover it up. This act disgusted me and shocked me, I will remember this moment for the rest of my life. in the photo that's what my burrito looked like after I received this. So thankyou very much for this experience...
