We recently hosted a celebratory lunch at the Apartment, Hotel Centennial. It is an absolutely stunning event space, filled with so much natural light from the beautiful arch windows that overlook Centennial Park. While it is a perfect space for medium-large group get-togethers, the large hallway has an intimate feeling, like you're being entertained in someone's private home. Our event staff were absolutely phenomenal. They were quick to reply to our questions and were dedicated to creating a magical event for us. The food on the day was exceptional. The highlight for me was definitely the duck, but the perfectly crafted menu by the kitchen team was absolutely exquisite. I highly recommend this hidden gem of a venue for any events or lunches as you will truly have an unforgettable experience.

I went here for my Godmother’s birthday and it was a wonderful experience! As soon as you walk in you are greeted by a lovely staff member and taken to your seat. The mood is very elegant and romantic as well as quiet so you can actually have a nice conversation. I ordered the salmon for my main and oven cooked prawns for the entree. I can honestly say the food was amazing and had the right ingredients and was full of flavour. There is also a bar, if you would like a little drink. The staff were all incredibly professional and friendly and many of them were French! The food is on the expensive side so you will have to take that into account if you would like to go here. Hotel Centennial is perfect for a romantic date or for a family catch up!

We’re Sydney Playscapes - specialising in soft play hire, balloon styling, jumping castles. We had such a great time setting up at Hotel Centennial recently over the Easter long weekend for a clients bubs first birthday. Huge thanks to the event manager, Kathleen for making the process so smooth, as well as the staff on the day - you guys were amazing in assisting us where had questions. Kathleen organised softplay, helium balloons and childrens table and chairs from us to set up for the birthday party. Highly recommend this location if you're planning a little one’s celebration, or just an intimate party - the space is amazing and you're guaranteed to have a good, intimate event!

Hmm hard to justify 5 stars, I gave a star for 2 things, the service and the lovely setup of the building. So why is it not that good? Okay first of all I am in my early 50's- This pub is really for the young as you won't be able to hear yourself talk. The restaurant is a tad quieter but the pub is way too noisy to hear yourself think. Book in Advance to find a NICE location. I would recommend this place to the people who live on the Bondi or eastern suburbs as it is very hard to get to from Leichhardt or Lower North shore. I took a train to Town Hall then a taxi to Paddington 7pm on a Saturday night it cost me $32.50 just for the taxi. The food is wholesome and quality, however very price driven. I had a Steak that was perfect and fries with some garden greens - that was $46 by itself. By the time you have a entree of some say Squid and side dish or two it will cost you around $250 for a couple including drinks. We both only had 3 drinks each so its expensive. The location is isolated - a Bus can get you there and then you need to walk about 200 or so metres to a main road to get a taxi. So did i enjoy it, well it was nice pub food - expensive and very noisy and hard to get to? The service was excellent staff except the pub bar, if you are over 40 years of age you won't get served cause everyone does not see you including the bar staff, spent 15 minutes at the bar and 3 young people 2 guys and a girl come up after me and got served and then when i did get my order this young couple moved me away from the bar as they got excited and talking, i ended up having to push past them to get my drinks i ordered. It is not nice being completely unnoticed. So if you are young and you can scream to talk to each other go, and if you want the best PUB food and the most expensive price go as well. Do not expect to leave without paying over $300 a...

This old hotel has been lovingly made over to a very comfortable and swish pub and has had new life breathed her into it and the restaurant was a beautiful place to go for dinner with friends and enjoy a group tasting menu. A Divine mix of entrees, mains and desserts. We had a beautiful French rose' from the bar and it was very pricey for what it was, but as I found out this beautiful and enjoyable old hotel had been taken over by Justin Hermes Merrivale brand so it was quiet expensive for what we had. The pub itself was very good place to visit and eat, I enjoyed everything about the Centenial, amazing service by lots of very good wait staff , the open kitchen was behind us and I enjoyed the sounds of food preparation as we talked and ate the wonderful food that was presented to us that night. There was not a lot to complain about and I would have to say it was almost perfect. I have no problem paying for great food and amazing service, I do however dislike being overcharged for overseas wine when this country makes much better wines at a little less than what we were charged on that night. But as I said earlier very little to complain about except the price of good French wine. The evening was a wonderful experience we enjoyed very much. Yes I would go back and eat at the Centenial...

I would usually have nothing but great feedback about this place as have been a few times. The last experience was very disappointing. The service was terrible, our waitress did not even serve our table instead we had to stop other staff to take our order. I asked a question about the menu to a passing waitress who did not want to answer simply said "speak to your waiter"... this proved hard when our waitress didn't show face until the very end. Unfortunately I had a giant cockroach crawl up my chair and and on my dress that I was wearing which had sent me into sheer panic. None of the staff came over to see what the issue was why they had a customer screaming mad until a gentlemen who was sitting at the table next ours killed the giant roach. Ten minutes later someone approached me and asked if I was ok in the most condescending tone as though I had done something wrong. When we were leaving the waitress who was supposed to serve our table took the money out of nowhere said "sorry about the cockroach". I am not usually the type to write reviews but I just could not wrap head around why none of the staff were a little more attentive. Definitely will not be...
