An absolute gem of a Japanese restaurant nestled in Little Saigon.

The ambience is warm and welcoming and comfortable. The space is well lit with warm lights and not overly bright. The music in the background is chillaxed and not too loud but just the right volume for an enjoyable time conversing with others or just eating alone.

The seating is very comfortable and spacious and there are a decent variety of tables to choose from. Everything is perfectly clean and presentable.

They do table service here but there is also the option to order from your phone (you still pay at the counter even if you order on your phone). I love the way they do this system because people can opt for table service if they feel like or they can just order on their phone if that's their vibe. Either way, the servers are always available and welcoming and attentive and helpful no matter which option you choose.

And the food! Wow. Amazing, authentic Japanese cuisine that is just so delicious and yummy and fresh!

The vegetable udon was so delicious and served piping hot and fresh. It was such a delightful combination of hearty soup and thick tender chewy udon noodles. There was a nice amount of different vegetables and tofu in the dish as well. This is probably the best udon I've ever had. The noodles are especially a standout with their texture and taste.

The agedashi tofu was fresh and had a slight crunch on the outside with a soft inside that just melts in your mouth. The seaweed salad was really nice too.

Overall I cannot find a single fault in this restaurant and I had a really great time dining here for dinner. I will definitely be...

There was a power issue on the train during my commute today, which caused delays and cancellations… It was such a cold, exhausting, and super stressful.

I was late to my dinner plans and we ended up starting an hour later than planned. But as soon as I saw the food, all the stress just melted away!

Last week I went to a Japanese place in another area and we ordered a ton of food, but even after all that, we weren’t full and ended up grabbing some bread from a café. But iki is totally different – way more affordable and so satisfying every time. I felt like all the tiredness from the day just disappeared. The teriyaki chicken salad was awesome – way more chicken than other places usually give you! Same with the Nagasaki udon – it was perfect for a cold and rainy day like today. I wrapped up the meal with some gelato – had three flavors, but couldn’t help taking a bite before snapping a photo. Oops! There’s also a private group table inside – I’ve seen people celebrate birthdays there pretty often. Since I was the last one out tonight, I took a few pics of the...

We went just before 3pm so we were lucky they were still open for lunch, as they close from 3pm to 5pm. We stayed about 1 hour. We had a Salmon teriyaki Bento, tempura and chicken hand roll. All were very nice. The rice was exceptional. Very soft and perfectly cooked. The salmon was sweet and salty - the balance was excellent. The tuna sushi rolls were tasty, the salad dressing was nice, the orange was fresh. The tempura was good. The hand roll was yummy too. We also had some mochi desserts and that was the only thing that was below our expectations. They explained they were going to "check" it. So I am assuming they will hopefully create a dessert that will delight the senses. Or they will just change the mochi supplier or chocolate sauce. It was from a syrup type currently, they could incorporate Nutella perhaps. And the raspberry was extremely sour, and the strawberry was too frozen with no flavour. Besides that dessert, we were happy to pay around $55 for all...
