GOT FOOD POISONING
I work nearby and often go to this place for my lunch break, including today. My disappointment, however, is beyond the words.
I ordered Marinated Beef & Tomato Rice and Paper Roll. Today was a time-sensitive lunch break for me, so I asked how long they would take. The old lady said it would take around 10 mins to prepare. I accepted and paid.
I END UP WAITED 40 mins! I asked them twice when my meal would be served during 40 mins waiting period. The first time, the old lady told me she did not know. The second time they ignored me. I controlled my temper because I tend to give more respect to older people.
My meal finally being served after 40 mins. I only have less than 15 mins for my lunch at that moment.
I wolfed down my meal as I ran out of time, and I didn't notice the meat was raw inside. Once realised something is wrong, I started to check the rest beef on my plate, and I found out the meat was still raw. I had no time left, so I had to finish tomato rice and paper roll and left raw beef on the plate.
I am a regular customer, and I thought this was just a one-time mistake, but at least I had to let them know about the food quality. So I took the plate with raw beef and showed them, saying they did not fully cook beef on my way out. The waiter remained silent. I repeated myself: This is raw. The old lady responded to me by saying some customers like the beef is medium-well.
First of all, I didn't order steak but marinated beef, and it was supposed to be fully cooked.
Second, there is a massive difference between tender and raw, and I am aware that my meal is raw.
I surprised at how irresponsible they were. However, I did not want to lose my temper, so I said 'perfect' and then left.
After returning to work, I started having diarrhea the entire afternoon. And my client had to wait for me because I needed to go to the toilet. I had four times diarrhea this afternoon.
Five hours later, I'm still experiencing severe pain in my stomach and still having severe diarrhea.
After work, I couldn't stand the pain and was in a hurry to go to the bathroom, so I had to get out of the train on the way home and look for a nearby toilet. Then I started feeling dehydrated, so I rushed to a nearby GP. I told the doctor what had happened, and after the examination, the doctor diagnosed me with enterogastritis caused by the virus.
I will report this place to the Council and seek legal action, as I saved all the relevant evidence.
I am very disappointed as a regular customer and will never...
Read moreI've been to LS Pho 3 times. The food was nice but nothing special for a small Vietnamese restaurant. It is quite expensive, charging more than top Newtown and Marrickville restaurant prices (the rent in these subrubs is supposed to be higher than Bankstown) for normal eatery food. It's still nice and they offer tea which is standard but I thought Bankstown was supposed be about the cheap food which I'm learning quickly it is not.
The 3rd time (I had table service the other 2 times) I went in I waited 20 minutes before I realised the lady who ushered me in couldn't understand me and why she prioritised putting away cutlery. I did give her my order, but I don't think she thought to get someone to actually take ithe order since she didn't understand (she didn't seem to speak English - which is fine, as long as you get someone to take the order.) She also waved for me to stay seated twice when I tried asking if my order had been taken.
After seeing a table of 4 and another of 2, who had entered after me, be served food before my order was even taken, I went to the counter and asked if I had my order taken, and the other service person thought I wanted to place an order after waiting for 20 minutes. I left.
The other 2 times I was asked for my order and offered tea with table service and had I been told it was counter service I would have ordered as I walked in.
I only just moved to Bankstown, and I know Pho and Vermicelli salad is meant to be cheap eats but for $16-19 in a suburb renowned for its great cheap food (Bankstown) for what I would buy for $10-13 in supposed more upmarket suburbs (Marrickville, Newtown or even the CBD) and to have a wait person keep you seated without even taking your order for 20 minutes in a practically empty restaurant, to then serve another 2 tables with a total of 6 people getting food before my order was even taken, is below par. I didn't sit silently, but politely asked if my order was taken and gestured to have my order taken as the other 2 later arrival tables were served food first.
Very disappointed for such an...
Read moreCame here for lunch with friends. Ordered a regular sized Chefs Special Pho. Good flavours and generous portion. I liked that you can choose from at least 3 different sizes, with relative prices. The bean sprout and basil accompaniment was smaller size compared with other pho places. Also tried their spring rolls and they were good. A variety of filling and again good portion size. The menu is now extensive buy covers most of the standard Vietnamese meals that you can find at a designated standard pho places. A few areas that could be improved are: poor customer service. Had to repeatedly request for an extra bowl and water. Seems like the only serving staff just kept forgetting the requests and would go off and do other things until you asked again a while later. There were only 2 staff working at the time but the restaurant was pretty quiet. Food took longer than usual to come out. Again only one other table when we were there. Drinks came towards the end of the meal and only after we asked where they were. We came on a very hot day and the air conditioning was either non existent or very weak. I guess not the best day for soup, but the heat in the restaurant made the experience quite uncomfortable. Overall, would like to try some more dishes. Flavours and portion were good and I think this...
