Updated Review:
I walked past this butcher again recently while on my way to Woolworths, and the same disgusting smell was coming from the shop. You can smell it before you even reach the entrance.
What really shocked me this time was seeing the condition of the shop after it had closed. The displays still had leftover meat and residue sitting out, and it looked like nothing had been properly cleaned or sanitised. I took photos because I couldn’t believe how unhygienic it looked.

I’ve never shopped at this butcher before, but I decided to give it a try since I was in the area and couldn’t get to my usual butcher. I regret that decision completely.
Every time I walk past this butcher, the smell and the appearance of the meat give me a bad feeling. The meat looks old and the quality seems poor. Unfortunately, my experience proved my instincts were right. Always follow your gut.
I purchased two kilos each of beef mince and lamb mince, as well as some chicken and Lebanese sausages. When I got home and started preparing the lamb mince, I noticed an awful smell, but I thought there was no way it could be off since I had just bought it. I went ahead and made kofta using a mix of the lamb and beef mince. Even after cooking, the bad odour persisted, ruining the dish entirely.
The quality of the meat was horrible. There were hard fatty bits and small chunks of bone throughout, making it completely inedible. I ended up throwing out all the kofta and the rest of the meat I had bought because I couldn’t take the risk of food poisoning.
To make matters worse, I noticed while being served that the staff’s hygiene practices were unacceptable. The person serving me was wearing gloves, but halfway through, I realised that the gloves were ripped, with some of his fingers completely exposed. This shows they don’t even change their gloves regularly and are okay with serving customers with bare hand exposure.
People pay good money and trust that their food is safe and fresh. This butcher doesn’t even come close to meeting...
Read moreIf you want poor customer service and off meat this is the place to go! I stopped going there for about a year ago because They gossip about and are rude to customers… i used to buy my meat everyday and witnessed how poorly they treated customers and then when customers would walk off they used to make horrible comments to embarrass them infront of other customers I watch how they interact with others. They skip customers to serve customers that just arrived and then if the customers say anything the girls reply to them in a rude manner…. Anyway after not going for over a year I went there for the first time again, and same things so rude. They let three customers before me. Slammed the bag of meat on the bench and that was it. The anmount of times we have also taken meat home and it’s been off. Chicken is yellow the beef is green or has black…. Just disgusting honestly. Yuck. Not worry the cheap prices. They’re cheap for a reason because their meat isn’t fresh and their customer...
Read moreI really wanted to try their chicken and chip fries to see if they were good but I was very disappointed because I mentioned to them 3 times that I wanted 1/4 of chicken and a small chip fries. They charged me $12 for a package of a meal with 1/2 chicken, 1 small chip fries and 1 small dipping sauce that I did not ask for. They said that they would give me 1/2 chicken but only charged me the price of 1/4 chicken. I didn't concern about that, just paid and left. When I got home I realized that this price was the same as another shop selling 1/2 chicken and a medium chip fries, but their chicken was fresher than this. So, this means the price of 1/4 chicken looked old, very dry and a small chip fries for $12! After eating their chips only, my stomach felt uncomfortable made me going toilet 3 times. Very disappointed, will never come back to this Meshwar fresh poultry shop...
