Food Critique

Critique is based on four things: Taste, Customer Service, Value for money and Presentation I will give a mark out of 5 followed by a comment Taste - 1/5 Food was cold, had a funny eggy taste and smell and chicken was dry Customer Service - 1/5 When it’s busy service drops, when it’s quiet staff are stand offish Value for money - 1/5 I know is Double Bay but for what you get it’s way too much - the whole dish we ordered would cost no more than $5 to make but it cost $30 Presentation - 1/5 too messy Mission Statement: Please don’t take my review personally. I am trying to be as fair as possible whilst trying to get businesses to uphold there prestigious profile. I am very picky and very in tune with good quality food. I dine out almost two or three times a week and know what good food looks, smells and tastes like Comment: My wife and I used to go once a week, lately we’ve been going once a month, but our last visit was not good at all We ordered the superfood chicken salad - very small chicken portion, it was dry, cold and had a funny egg smell, next to nothing Persian fetta, no shaved carrots. One of my disappointments is serving cold drinks in a hot cup that smells like egg. Overall the whole restaurant had this eggy smell. Cutlery and tables getting old, whole shop needs a bit of a revamp. For the location and demographics and type of clientele it needs a lot of work and improvements regarding everything. This place was my wife and I favourite...

This place used to be my favourite, and I have always talked highly of. The last 2 visits I had were really disappointing.

Brought my mate who came to visit Sydney on Oct 2, she asked for the best brunch spot in Sydney and I highly spoke about Indigo and it's a must try. As soon as we're seated, we were provided with tap water, I took my first sip and the water's texture felt pretty rough and it made me coughed but I had nothing in mind as what could go wrong it's probably the air's transition from winter to spring. Took another 3 sips, only then realised there were biscuit crumbs inside the tap water provided which was really astounding (see photo attached). That was a really bad first impression, and disgusting for her as I told her this place was good but she was greeted with quality hygiene welcome! We did not enjoyed our food. On top of that, when we told the waiter there are crumbs inside this water this is pretty disgusting he just casually took it with no remorse, no apology.

I chose to give it another go, was there yesterday 29th Oct ordered 2 wagyu beef burger (around 1:30PM) and it tasted nothing like wagyu. The meat tasted like some cheap beef which was not juicy, it's definitely not fresh and has been kept in the freezer for a while. Such a shame as brought another mate who had never tried Indigo before and yet I still talked highly of. 2 stars as the lady who served yesterday was really nice, not recommended if this is where your...

I'm not one to leave reviews, let alone bad one's! I've felt compelled to let others know since visiting a few days ago. The first lady that served us was lovely, once we asked to move to another spot due to the high winds, we were shown absolute no attention. We were trying to order some juice or even get some water for the table and not a single waiter would look our way. Finally we got the attention of a waitress who was walking by, I hate waving my hands around in cafes out of respect to the staff but this time I had no choice. She looked at us and nodded, as to say she'd be back. She walked past us at least another 3 times and didn't bother asking what we actually wanted. The first time I was like ok, she's holding plates, the 2nd and 3rd was her just walking past us like we didn't exist. Let me talk about the food. Honestly don't waste your time or money! On the menu they called it a "lobster roll" we got 2 mini Croissants each the size of a pinky finger with maybe 10gms of meat in it ($35). We asked if they did an egg benny, the waitress said it wasn't on the menu but they could make it. Just don't make it for customers if it's going to look and taste the way it did, absolutely no flavour in almost every bit of it. I was shocked because at least hollandaise has some nice notes, this was just wrong. Slapped together in no longer than a minute and served. Hope the chef and owner read this honest review for...

Great food. Had the 12 hour BBQ pulled pork benedict, corn cakes and salmon potato cakes. Kids ate the corn cakes, and we asked for the fresh jalapeno to be removed when ordering. The strawberries and cream french toast sounded amazing but upon further inquiry, unfortunately had nuts so we had to forgo it. Service staff vary in standards but one of ours was very obliging in asking the kitchen to meet allergy requests or at least finding out what specific ingredients were. Soy latte was quite good. Very busy for Sunday brunch and had to wait for a table though turnover was fairly quick considering they have many tables. Caution, might not be ideal to sit at tables along pavement as birds are perched on lamp fixtures above tables and you might get a surprise during the meal :)
