Bake Bar in Double Bay is a hive of activity from morning until late afternoon. When you try their selection of meals, baked goods and treats it is not hard to see why. I love their bench style seats where you can watch the world and people go by while sipping a coffee and having a meal or snack.

Despite this popular spot often being at capacity there are plenty of staff on deck and they manage the crowd well. We were there for a late lunch and we were pleasantly surprised by the range of meals including pastas, burgers, sandwiches and salads. I went for the prawn linguine which had a generous serving of prawns and despite being a pasta dish was relatively light and a perfect option for lunch. The subtle hint of butter, parmesan and tomato made it easy to eat and filling. We also grabbed the Asian style chicken salad which was served with your choice of bread - the Asian salad dressing topped this dish off beautifully. I am keen to try out their selection of chicken burgers next time we dine there - they looked fresh and delicious as they came past our table. Despite the size of both dishes we knew we had to save room for dessert after seeing their baked goods selection. These really were the highlight! The chocolate cupcake with pistachio was quite possibly the best cupcake I have had and the chocolate and cream slice was just as good (all of which are organic). Pair these with a coffee or chai latte and you have the perfect afternoon snack.

During our visit there was also a steady stream of people grabbing take away baked goods or the loaves of amazing bread on offer. This place is definitely worth it for your bread and baked good needs while doing the rest of the shopping in the complex. Mid week this would be the perfect spot to bring your laptop or a book and soak up the sun and the atmosphere of the area. Additionally set yourself up in the library and use this place as the perfect...

Bake Bar is well-known for their delicious bakery items, but they also offer a variety of savory dishes. One of their standout options is the Asian style chicken salad.

The Asian style chicken salad at Bake Bar is a refreshing and light option that is perfect for when I am looking for a healthy and flavorful meal. The salad is comprised of tender poached chicken , mixed greens, crunchy vegetables, and creamy sesame Asian-inspired dressing. The ingredients are fresh and the portion size is generous, making it a satisfying choice.

The chicken in the salad is cooked to perfection, with a juicy and tender texture. It is well-seasoned and adds a nice protein element to the dish. The mixed greens are crisp and fresh, providing a good balance to the other ingredients. The vegetables, such as cucumber, carrots, and cabbage, offer a delightful crunch and add a colorful touch to the salad. One of the standout elements of this salad is the creamy sesame dressing. The dressing is rich, flavorful, and complements the ingredients perfectly. It adds a creamy and nutty taste that ties everything together. The toasted sesame seeds sprinkled on top add a nice crunch and enhance the overall presentation.

Their coffee is of high quality and is expertly brewed, resulting in a rich and flavorful cup. Bake Bar has a variety of options to satisfy my ever changing coffee cravings from espressos, a long black or an almond latte.

The atmosphere at Bake Bar is vibrant, providing a pleasant environment for customers. The combination of good music and friendly staff adds to the overall positive ambiance not to mention the quick and efficient service they provide.

Overall, the Asian style chicken salad at Bake Bar is a delicious and healthy option that is sure to satisfy. Paired with their excellent coffee, it makes for a delightful...

Bake Bar is a thriving little bakery cafe and coffee shop in the double bay shopping precinct that has in door and alfresco dining. There is heating there if the day needs it. Breakfast goes until midday or 2 pm on weekends and public holidays. It then switches to the lunch menu from 12noon until 4. Everything is made on site including all the bread and sausage rolls and pies. We began with a coffee; hubby had the nice macchiato and I got a delicious skim chai latte. I feel I'm a bit of a chai connoisseur and i loved this one. Not too sweet and the flavours infused well through the milk. We were there for lunch on this occasion, sat outside and perused the menu. We both ordered a meal and a salad. Hubby got the prawn linguine, a al dente linguine with white wine and garlic sauce, with a generous serving of prawns and finished with some cherry tomatoes and Parmesan. A great spring menu option. He also got the tuna Niçoise salad, a combination of mixed greens, olives, carrot, potato, beans and topped with a boiled egg and seared tuna slices - this was lovely and it was perfectly cooked. Accompanied with a side of bread of your choice, rye, multigrain, white or gluten free. I went for a beef burger; which was quite a healthy burger in that you elected your bread of choice, it had lettuce, beetroot a bit of aioli, caramelised onions and a nicely cooked meat pattie. I also got a salad; the prawn and avocado salad. Mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, a generous addition of prawns, a aioli dressing and a slice of toast. We also saw some customers eating the sausage rolls so decided to order these too; a lamb and Harissa as well as a beef sausage rolls. A crisp pastry filled with a nicely seasoned filling. The staff were very accommodating, efficient with their service and very personable. A lovely choice of a venue...

Bake Bar is always busy and, given the quality of its baked goods, salads and hot food, I would say it deserves to be so. I have now dined here several times and I have never had any issues with the food. The prawn linguine was of a generous portion, not only in terms of pasta but also the number of fresh and large prawns included. The halloumi salad was surprisingly filling, despite the liberal application of zesty dressing. The mini spinach and ricotta, potato and mushroom and sausage rolls ($2 each) are great value - grab a couple for an afternoon snack or lunch the next day. The only critique I would give is that the waitstaff could be more attentive, and perhaps offering table service (rather than ordering and paying at the counter) would cement Bake Bar's place as a local favourite.

I get this place is overpriced as it’s double bay aka double pay - this would be palatable if the quality was good. I paid over $20 today for fried eggs over easy on gluten toast. And then they served the eggs as they always do - overcooked with the yoke fried hard. This time one was fried hard 🤮 and the other which was a little runny was broken and had run all over the plate and was cold when served 🤮. And to make matters worse they charged me extra for gluten free yet gave me the inedible crust which was also super thick and stale. 🤮 Seriously. This place is a total rip off. It is pretty reasonable to expect the cook to know how to cook eggs. I should stick to just coffee as the coffee is good and it’s a nice place to sit. But the cook needs to learn to cook.

Xshot Cappuccinos early morning experience with zero service from the 2 staff members standing chatting away like high school reunion besties blocking the entry! Once we both dodged our way through the tables and chairs they finally showed some body language to prove they've actually realised we've taken a detour through the eastern suburbs to pass them but wait there's more..... still no words or hand signals or sign language to even acknowledge us. The saddest part was the cafe was easily manageable with only a few customers around and we actually walked past them seconds before we started our mission to enter. The coffee on the the other hand was good but unfortunately the introduction was a big let down,,, a well deserved 1 star.
