9/11/24 - 4 stars Recommended this specialty pork hock restaurant by a few Korean friends as it's supposedly very authentic. Happy to say that the jokbal is overall delicious and definitely worth trying. Was a little disappointed in the cold noodles but more minor. Staff are super friendly and work really hard given the high turnover and small space. Banchan has a good spread and there are free refills. Jokbal Flavour: SS, 9/10. Had to dock half a point for the plain jokbal which was a bit less tender and flavourful. The spicy one was delicious and spicy. Maybe it being served hot was the difference. Texture: SS, 9/10. Melt in your mouth (for the most part). The plain one was slightly less so Value: A, 7/10. $70 is pretty expensive honestly but it was a decent amount of food and the quality is quite good so not too bad. Spicy cold noodles Flavour: A+, 7.5/10. Quite standard spicy bean paste sauce Texture: S, 8/10. A bit al dente but nothing that special Value: B, 6/10. $15

Having been to a delicious, braised pork hock restaurant in South Korea, the dish became one of my all-time favourite meals and I've been longing to go back to Seoul to taste it once again. I searched far and wide for a similar restaurant in Sydney, however, could not find anything that came even close to what I had overseas.....until this little beauty of a restaurant appeared! Finally, I was able to enjoy a delicious braised pork hock dinner again right in my own backyard! The signature main meal comes with a host of tasty sides and the braised pork itself is just so flavoursome and melt-in-your mouth tender. A small selection of alcohol (Beer, Soju, Rice Wine) is also available to help you wash down your meal. As mentioned in other reviews, the place is quite small so get there early before it opens or be prepared to wait (it's worth it!).

This restaurant specialises in jokbal - you have the braised pork hock, spicy or the cold pork hock. They cook the pork hock for more than ten hours - daily so there's a limited amount of servings per day. Be sure to get there before 7.30pm. We decided to get half half - the braised and spicy. It came in a huge serving plate with the pork hock in the middle and Korean side dishes on the side. And was put on top of a spinning tabletop. The serving was huge and definitely don't need to order other side dishes but you can as alot of people ask for takeaway. The pork hock was delicious - melted in my mouth and was so tender. You mix it with the side dishes and lettuce. Definitely one to try and it's their specialty. Be sure to get ready to wait to get a table but usually it's not long before they call you.

I don't usually upload reviews but I think this might help the owners in the long run. This place has no doubt the freshest nice Jokbal in sydney. HOWEVER, everytime we go here we are told we can't order the whole Fresh Jokbal and we have to get the half chill or half cold Jokbal with the original Fresh Jokbal. I HATE eating chilli and I don't want cold Jokbal. We are very understandable people so we just went along with it. They were apologetic about it, BUT if we have to get Half & Half everyone else who seated after us has to get Half & Half, as I witnessed people who seated after us get the whole Plain Fresh Jokbal and people who already ordered a whole Fresh Jokbal before us are allowed to get additional Fresh Jokbal. I'm starting to think they pick and choose who they give whole Fresh Jokbal too and not too. We were pretty cut so even though the Jokbal is nice we are not going back. FOR THE OWNERS, I KNOW THE SPICY JOKBAL ARE THE OFF CUTS AND THE COLD ONE IS YESTERDAYS ONE. IF YOUR ALWAYS SHORT OF WHOLE FRESH JOKBAL HOW ABOUT YOU GET RID OF WHOLE FRESH JOKBAL OPTION? AND JUST HAVE HALF AND HALF MAYBE ADD HOT NON SPICY OPTION TO THE LIST? OR CHARGE EXTRA FOR THE FULL FRESH JOKBAL OPTION? OR DECREASE THE PRICE FOR HALF AND...
