We heard amazing things about this restaurant. Let me be clear, the food WAS amazing. No doubt. At first, the service was great, fast and courteous. Very nice for first timers to this restaurant.
However, when we ordered more items we kept waiting. We first ordered some baguette. No brainer, pieces of bread, surely they can bring them out quickly so we can soak up the delicious pan juices from our seafood fiesta. No. The bread never came. I called the watress over and asked for it. She said, yes, no problem. And we ordered more food at the same time.
Meanwhile, the restaurant was slowly filling up. Our waitress came by about 20 minutes after waiting apologising for the delay. She said it will be a few minutes. I asked for the baguette again. It never came. At the 30 minute mark, our older daughter went up to them at the register and enquired. They said the food will not be too much longer.
At the 40 minute mark, I went to the register and complained to the manager about the slow service. There was a lady from an adjacent table complaining as well, about the exact same thing. No one was angry, we were simply stating the fact, that waiting 40-plus minutes or more for food is unacceptable.
I went back to the table, our waitress returned and asked to confirm what we ordered the second time. We told her. My wife suggested they probably lost our order.
When I went back five minutes later I asked them again where the food was, after all we were waiting for ages. It was then, the truth was revealed, that they misplaced our second order and they are onto it. At this time, there was another lady from one of the adjacent tables to us complaining, that they have been waiting an hour with no food having been served.
I cancelled the second order there and then, settled the bill, after confirming they didn't overcharge for the first lot of items we ordered.
It was very disappointing to have experienced such poor service, especially that I booked for my wife's birthday and the restaurant was highly recommended. Considering the pricing of food, they should be able to put more staff on to be able to serve the customers and cook the food. As all the explanations from the store manager and wait staff pointed to not having enough crew on shift.
The manager did offer to give me the second order for free to take, but I said no thanks. The experience completeley ruined my appetite to ever visit here again.

I don’t usually leave reviews but the service at Emerton was not great to say the least. We opted to make the most of the 50% off sale. I rang earlier in the day to check if it would be ok to be seated at the same table but have a seperate bill which I was told would be ok once we arrived myself my partner and 2 young children 2 years and an 8 month old we were told no we could not have 2 seperate bills. Ok, so I then asked would it be better if we sat at different tables and had seperate bills does that work for you. I was then told no. I looked around at an empty restaurant only 1 table occupied and asked was it because you are booked out? Then I was told no that’s not why your just not allowed to do that. I said but I’m happy to sit at a seperate table and pay a seperate bill to my partner why isn’t it allowed? To which I was then told ok you can for just this one time. So once the frustration of that had finished we were seated seperate tables right next to each other (not sure what the point was as we just seated our 2 young ones in the middle so we could both assist to them). I then go to make payment only to find out they only accept eftpos to which I only had cash. I had the exact cash for 2 seperate bills he was ok to accept but I still had to pay the card fee even though I was paying cash? Like seriously what a muck around. I couldn’t wait to just eat and get out of there. The staff are not very well presented at all out of the 4 that were working the floor not one person looked over 20 this was including the “manager” present at the time. The chips came out with chicken salt after asking for plain salt they forgot to give the rice which I had to ask for after 10mins of my mixed bag arriving. Just overall customer service was not great. The actual seafood mixed bag was nice it has changed alot no more corn or bugs instead the bag is filled with a lot of crabs and pipis. Read moreOur night last night was pretty crappy from beginning to end. The waitress came out and “took our order” but with no notepad, just apparently was going to remember it off the top of her head even though I told her we were doing a custom bag. I even said to my partner “there’s no way she is going to remember that why doesn’t she just go grab a notepad and write it down” So first off, She forgets half our order, My son’s fish was so overcooked the fish inside was basically inedible, the crawfish are HORRID. I knew I shouldn’t have eaten them but at the same time I knew we were spending our money there so I still ate them, they had the tiniest little amounts of meat in them but I noticed underneath the crawfish were black which I haven’t noticed before when eating at the Penrith Kickin Inn, some of them also had an odd smell so I didn’t eat them, Our food came out at all different times, but I told the waitress the other waitress forgot half of our custom bag and she first said “no you didn’t order that stuff” and I said “yes, we did, she repeated it back to us and assured us she wasn’t going to forget anything” and then when she asked the other waitress the other waitress realised she had forgotten the eggs, potatoes and corn. So she brings them out not long after but they clearly tried to rush it because the potatoes were ROCK HARD. I had to pull the waitress over to show her that you couldn’t even break the potato’s in half and even she looked mortified. One of the eggs exploded in my hand like a pop, I’m unsure what that was about?????? Possibly microwaved? But they were scalding hot compared to the potatoes which were not. The whole experience was just so unsatisfying, my partner tried the boneless wings but even he didn’t finish his plate. Anyway, experience aside, we’ve woken up today violently ill. So, we’ve learnt our lesson here. Absolutely so disappointed to pay $179.95 and the entire meal wasn’t only in shambles but we basically paid to get sick. She did offer to take the potatoes off the price and 10% discount but once they add GST on you don’t actually get a discount at all if you check the receipt. Pretty disgusted. Off to the doctors we go and never again back...
