A friend of mine in Castle Hill told me about this new Thai place at the Hills Showground, and I'm so glad they did! I was craving a good Khao Soi, and they had it on the menu. We got there around 7 PM and the place was buzzing with people waiting for a table. We didn't have a booking, but my friend insisted we wait – and man, it was totally worth it! We ordered the Khao Soi with beef short ribs, Somtum (in two portions!), and the lamb chops. The Khao Soi was absolutely incredible. It was so creamy and smooth, and the crispy noodles on top gave it a perfect crunch. The beef was so tender it just melted in your mouth. The combination of the soft noodles, the melt-in-your-mouth beef, and the crispy bits was just perfect. For the Somtum, I asked if they could add Thai-style fermented fish, and they did! It was a special request, but they nailed it. It tasted just like home and I was so happy – it's rare to find that authentic flavour. The lamb chops were another winner. They were grilled perfectly – crispy on the outside but so tender and juicy inside. There was no gamy smell at all, just pure flavour. What's more, the staff were really friendly and the food came out quickly, which was impressive considering how busy they were. Everything was great value for the price. I'll definitely be coming back to try more of their menu next time I'm visiting my friend. This place...

Such a random pick but surprisingly impressive. Had a wonderful dinner here. Every dish was fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. One of the absolute must order dishes is the Khao Soi Beef Ribs. The beef was so tender it fell right off the bone and the curry broth was rich and comforting, reminding me of the one I had in northern Thailand with just the right amount of spice.

We also tried the Fish Garden Spicy Salad which was refreshing with the perfect balance of heat and tang, the Soft Shell Crab Curry which was crisp yet soaked up the curry flavour beautifully, and the Som Tum Salad which was light and zesty. To finish, the Mango Sticky Rice was the perfect sweet ending with fresh mango and just the right chewiness from the rice.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the service was friendly and attentive, and the whole experience felt authentic and memorable. Such a great find in this area outside of the Sydney CBD. Definitely one of the best Thai restaurants I have been to in Sydney....

I came in alone and placed my order. When my mobile data dropped out, I asked about the Wi-Fi. The staff seemed confused, mumbled “no,” then spoke loudly in Thai to other staff, followed by laughter.

It left me feeling unwelcome and embarrassed — not the kind of response a customer expects when making a simple request, especially with multiple Wi-Fi hotspots showing in the restaurant’s name. Having lived in Bangkok, I know and appreciate good Thai hospitality. This experience was น่าผิดหวัง (nâa-phìt-wǎng) — disappointing. The food itself was just so-so — fine while hot, but the soft-shell crab went soggy within minutes. For $35 plus rice, it didn’t feel worth it. (Lost my appetite — photo here of unfinished food.)

Please consider how to respond when customers make simple requests like this. A clear and courteous one liner in English — even if the answer is no — goes a long way toward making people feel respected...
