Koshigaya Kitchen — Restaurant in Sydney

A pretty good Japanese sushi place to eat. The food is reasonably good. The Ukamaki rolls and the Shoreline line were the stand out for me. The siriracha sauce was quite spicy and added lots of flavour. The Nigiri was also nice. The Sashimi was OK (and I’m a big fan of Sashimi and eat it often) tasted more like what you get at places where the fish was cuts hours before and chilled in the fridge. There service was pleasant but very minimal. They did get my order wrong. I told them I’m allergic to avocado on the ordering system (as no one took our order) but they remade the rolls with no complaint. There are lots of vegan and vegetarian options and they were very nice. The ramen noodles were good too. The Bento box was huge and very good. Nice place to eat sushi. They mostly service take away but still it might be worthwhile ensuring your service staff are more attentive. Also we couldn’t order any drinks as they aren’t in the online order system and no one asked us if we wanted to order drinks. Would go back based on the food and the price point...

Came in yesterday when the store was very understaffed, and there was one hardworking lady cooking and organising everything. She was so wonderful and did everything she could to make the best of the situation. The food was absolutely delicious and there is also an entire vegan menu for those inclined. My vegan partner said that his ramen was as good as (if not better than) the best ramen he'd ever had in Japan!! Their crunchy tofu was really tasty and (for the non vegos) the Karaage chicken ramen was amazing! The prices are also very reasonable and the food is filling!

Today was a lesson to never go by the reviews, I had some expectations and was badly wanting to try the Chicken Katsu here but to my surprise the dish was the worst of all the Japanese places I had till day. I was served the rice, curry and the chicken in a medium size bowl all mixed (the top layer) which was so surprising, never did any place do this and there was just plain hard white rice in the centre with no curry and how was I supposed to eat that??

I asked the server for extra curry as it was beyond edible and then was given 2spoons of curry in a tiny bowl and was told that’s what was left. Seriously? And then charge me $18 for that?

I hope the management looks into this and doesn’t rip off others...
