Being born in Italy, I usually take my thin and crispy pizza from a popular Italian restaurant in Haberfield. They make the best wood fired Italian pizza in Sydney in my opinion. This time coming back from Chatswood we decided to try L’Angolo which was recommended by someone we know. Well, the pizza was very disappointing. First of all they use an electric conveyance oven like Domino’s. We ordered one margherita and one prosciutto and rocket. The margherita was full of cheese exactly like Domino’s ones; the prosciutto and rocket had the prosciutto submerged with cheese and cooked in the conveyance oven ☹️ instead of being put on top at the end of the cooking along with the rocket. Evidently they had no idea how to make it. In a nutshell nothing to do with real Italian pizza. The total price for the 2 pizzas was 50$, 1 dollar more expensive than the price I usually pay for taking away exactly the same two type of pizzas at my favourite wood fired restaurant in Haberfield. Basically we had Domino’s like pizzas at a higher price than real wood fire Italian pizza restaurants. A rip off. I cannot comment on the rest of the food because I have never tried it but when it comes to real Italian pizza stay away from this low quality and overpriced place. Stick to Domino’s for...
Read moreHave ordered from this place many many times in the past, as I am a local and have always loved it. First time ordering again for quite awhile tonight and all I can say is...the quality has gone WAY downhill. One pizza was burnt The other was getting to burnt and was really overcooked. Ordered a pasta and arancini as well which, to be fair, were really good. Considering I paid over 100 dollars for this order I'm completely turned off and will consider ordering elsewhere in the future. Also...website states "free delivery to local areas" well, I live in a local area and I was charged $6 for delivery (as well as a $3.80 eftpos fee) I don't mind at all paying the price for good quality food but this seemed like a joke. Sending pizzas out like that just shows there is no thought for the customer as It would have been very clear to the person who made the pizzas that these...
Read moreThis is not really a place to dine at as there are only a few tables the owners have Obviously decided to make it is essentially just a spot to order takeaway from. I personally find it quite expensive given that that one is not paying for a dining experience or any associated table service. A pasta dish two pizzas and a salad came to 1 hundred and three dollars. The pizzas were rather strange with the special being a bit of a mish mash of flavours . Simplicity not in evidence here. Unfortunately the second pizza was so heavily salted it was inedible.
There are just better options to have a simple Italian dinner in this area. Toto's and Filicudis both serve far superior food at more reasonable prices and both offer table service.
Don't be fooled by the grand name as it is really just a takeaway hub and certainly not...
