It was a late rainy Friday afternoon and we were looking for food in Willoughby. There’s not a lot of good restaurants or cafes around but La Botte was still opened. Our colleague took us here and said the food was good and he was right. My first glance at the menu was the price, it seemed a bit out of my lunch range and I’ll was opting for entree pasta size but the waiter said it would be enough for me so went for main size. I was extremely surprised how big the portion was which you don’t see from other Italian restaurants. Now I was happy with the portion, I was also satisfied how it tasted as well, one of the best spaghetti’s I’ve tasted. It didn’t take me long, I finish the dish in 10 minutes or so. The service is great, very quick probably at lunch there’s less people so not to sure about evenings.
The restaurant can easily accommodate 30-40 people inside, though it feels a bit cramped just how close the tables were setup and extra seating on the outside. The restaurant has simple interiors, very homey local Italian restaurant.
For a meal per person you will be looking at around $20-40 including a drink. Other things you’ll find on the menu include salads, different type of breads, 10 pasta dishes both in entree & main size, 11 pizzas in both small & large size, 7 main dishes including some seafood, kids menu, takeout menu, drinks and desserts. Quite A a decent range of dishes for this small restaurant.

Read moreWorst Dining Experience I’ve ever had. This place is a disgrace to Italian food. The White Bait special seemed to have been reheated in a microwave- soggy, room temperature with no salt. The pizza honestly is something akin to a kebab shop pizza, only I would prefer the pizza from the kebab joint. Greasy with cheap toppings- not wood fired.
Worse than the food is the service. After waiting 1.5hrs for mains we were told that we had to vacate the table for the next seating. We notified the waiter that we had not even been served our mains to which we were told that they had forgot to call our order. Nothing was comped and I stupidly paid the full amount for the meal just wanting to get the hell out of there.
Throughout the night the service was poor with the head chef spending more time clearing tables and talking to wait staff than in the actual kitchen! Takeaway orders are constantly walking by your table and the front door constantly being open allowing a cold breeze in.
Save your money and time going here- if you want good Italian drive 5 mins down the...
Read moreI hate leaving negative reviews and are a big supporter of supporting local .
We walked in to this restaurant and where somewhat greeted with just a look .
But I be honest the feeling we got it was like we where annoying to even walk in the door .
We were seated to a table in the back. Waited for a bit and then where finally given menus .
Wait staff that was on made us feel very unwelcome and was quite disheartening as the place looked nice. Was more interested in drinking her water .
We ordered and had to ask for more plates and napkins .
Food was ok but I be honest prices were pricey for the quality of food pizza we ordered.
Paid our bill.
When we left there was not even a good bye or how was your dinner.
We will not be back due to the staff that made us feel unwelcome .
Ps to give other children a chocolate when they paid in front of full view of our children that were positive and polite at dinner made them feel very unimportant.
My six year old said to me Why did I not get one .
Customer service is everything in...
