Upon arrival, the entrance to enter accommodation, the door says pull but there is no handle so had to go through bistro entrance to talk to bartender and they called management. Then, I had to haul my luggage up three flights of stairs. There's no lift cuz old building. Understandable. But if it was my hotel, I'd assist my guest in taking their luggage up. That's good service and welcoming on arrival. I'm hauling it up three flights of stairs. And while hauling, manager tells me the hotel is a hundred years old. So I show interest by asking, oh? And what's the history behind it? His answer, I don't know... Um... It's your hotel. It's important to have product knowledge. Why did you tell me it's a hundred years old but no story behind it? Lol what was the point? I like history. Please tell me more... Staff should learn about the hotel. Room one seems somewhat decent enough. But the only lights were bedside table lamps. There were two and only one worked. Then TV didn't work. No battery in remote. There's no landline to call directly to reception or management. I had to use my phone to call the hotline on the website but the people answering were not on site and redirected me to management but no one answered. They said they will leave a message and send someone. Feels like forever... Half an hour or an hour later. Manager takes remote from other room and TV works but only one channel works when watching at night. SBS. When showering, there's no body wash. No one has bothered to refill after guests' use. I had to jump out of the shower a few times to use hand wash instead. I had to jump out of shower cuz can't take hand wash with me, it's locked into the wall. There was a small coffee table but no chair to sit down and eat. I accidentally broke a wine glass and there's glass on the floor, a bit of spillage on the bed. Need new sheets. Called the hotline again. This time twice as long. It's almost as if no one is around. Finally after forever, the manager offers to change rooms. Ok good. Fair enough. Points for that. Changed to room five. But no remote for TV, I took remote from room one which actually from another room (that the manager took). At least both lamp works. There was no table in room five, so I took the table from room one to use. Again no chair to sit down and eat. I called the hotline and they said no one answering. They tell me to go downstairs to find help. Ask the bartender. They're clueless. Not their job, obviously. They said they'll leave a message cuz they called and tried looking for someone. I went back upstairs cuz they said they will send management. An hour later. Still no one. I called hotline again. They redirected me and they said they will be there soon cuz handling kegs. Manager finally comes up and changes batteries. TV now works. A bit better. Has more channels. The only things that were great were the bed; comfortable to sleep in, shower; great water pressure and the bistro food; excellent. I loved the benefit of calling for food service up to the room via QR code. Convenient. I'm sorry but only two stars for me. Service was kinda half arsed. Sorry. Not coming back again. Maybe for the bistro food but not accommodation. The food, I would rate ten stars. Room one is still left with broken glass and dirty sheets. The Wi-Fi was spotty and couldn't really connect. It said...
Read moreThis place was utter filth. The bathrooms had grime and disgusting black marks in them, and compared to the picture this was an utter con. The picture depicted the bathrooms as a clean and tidy nice place, yet they looked like an abandoned house. Additionally, the rooms smelt like filth with carpets having an unbearable smell to a point where i had to ask to use an air refreshener bottle. Please do yourself a favour, don’t book here. The only decent part was the location, a 15 minute drive to the city, and the free drink upon arrival also served in filthy glasses. $700 for three nights, in perth i can book crown promenade with that. Once again, utter filth and we deserve a refund. Might i add, the air conditioning was literally useless, and didn’t do anything. You weren’t allowed to change the mode. Also, the drinks are stupidly overpriced, such a horrendous establishment. Why isn’t anything as clean as the pictures? Will never be back there again, and i urge nobody to book the hotel if they go. The reply i will get is how they’ll spread the review, but i urge the bridgeview hotels people to actually do so. Fix your disgusting hotel, and maybe spray some deodorant all...
Read moreAfter visiting this local pub for more than 15 years and pouring thousands of $ across the bar and in the dining room, my friends and I will never ever visit the Bridgeview Hotel again. Yes it's a daggy pub but it served our purposes for weekly or twice weekly visits after tennis and golf or to watch footy. Today after golf we ordered a jug of beer. We all agreed it tasted funny and smelt off. The smug supercilious barman said it seemed fine to him but would ask the manager. We sat there for more than 10 minutes and I finally noticed the manager at the bar standing there. I went over asked him if we could get a fresh jug of beer. The barman had poured out beer down the sink when I first approached him. The manager said the keg was fine. That was it. If I had not approached him we would have remained in the dark. We were out $20. And they had poured our beer that we had paid for down the sink. I don't know who the new staff are but they gave zero idea about respect for customers. Anyway we will be going to The Belroy or The Willoughby from now on. We will vote with our feet. Bridgeview -...
