Leaf Cafe & Co North Ryde - A test to the chain.
Located in the “emerging” towers of North Ryde, the reputable Leaf Cafe & Co has established their footing in the newly developed areas of the Lower North Shore! With a reputation to boot, it was a must try as a lover of the franchise!

Highlights: Without a doubt, the ambiance and atmosphere is clean and have all the vibes of your “comfort” cafe - as all Leaf Cafe & Co do. It’s spacious and not too crowded and it was great to see they have Chilli Salt as a condiment!
Review: Peri Peri Chicken Wrap - $14 Not bad. It’s quite good value for money and well portioned. The chicken was lacking in seasoning and was overcooked (a bit dry) however, it is a dish that gets better as you bite into it.
Ebi Katsu Burger - $21 Not Recommended. This was quite disappointing as it was the most capturing dish on the menu. The Ebi patty is made out of a paste that did not have much prawns rather was overpowered by crumbs and corn. The yuzu mayo also had overpowered the burger as you get a strong hit after each bite. Although it lacked seasoning the chips were crisp and crunchy, and it was the addictive part of the dish with each crunch.
Latte: $3.80 Preference. Using their house blend, the Leaf Cafe & Co beans are temperamental based on the heat of the milk. It starts off with a full-bodied chocolate yet nutty flavour however as it cools down, you will notice a distinct fruity note, like fine wine.

Will wait -...
Read moreEdit: apparently my original review got some employees in trouble. Would like to mention that it seemed like an isolated incident that occurred when they were running low on staff. Management probably needs to evaluate if it’s worth getting staff to do twice the work at the expense of service.
Lovely coffee and food but the people and/or the systems used to keep track of orders creates chaos.
There have been multiple instances where I and other customers are waiting on parts of an order for so long that the coffee is no longer hot. Or you’d be waiting forever unless you asked because they simply forgot about your order, even when you’re standing around waiting. When staff are approached about this they’re not apologetic.
If you’re going to make someone wait for 20mins for a simple item the least you can do as a hospitality worker is say sorry, not “oops I forgot”
Again the food and coffee are lovely but the systems in place are shocking, this combined with a much higher price than other equivalent cafes leaves you wondering why they’re charging such a premium for...
Read moreI've been here 3 times now and all 3 times have been disappointing
First time: I came with a few mum friends, the waitress didn't pay attention to the fact that we had young kids and served the coffee over my daughter's head! The owner was also lurking about and had a close eye on his staff which made everyone feel unrelaxed. He asked us immediately how the service was as soon as we got up.
Second time I had a coffee and was reading my book on the outside tables, got hurried away right after I finished the coffee. Not a busy day mind you.
Third time (today), I ordered the cheese and tomato toastie which cost $7 and asked if they could add some chicken and was happy to pay a bit extra, they said they'd charge me the most expensive toastie $12 (chicken and avo) and replace avo for cheese (forgot the tomatoes anyways). The waitress got a bit annoyed I asked about the price too. I've never been charged $5 extra for chicken on a toastie. Could've gone to Coles next door to buy the...
