Our go-to Vietnamese restaurant in Macquarie Park. It's a pretty decent place, menu isn't overwhelming. Dishes are fairly priced. We found the place itself quite small for dine-in with just a few tables and chairs available but parking in the area is easy. Staff are knowledgeable and extremely warm and friendly too! For this particular visit, we had the Vegetarian Spring Rolls. This is our favorite! We always get this in every visit/uber order. Always cooked fresh and delivered piping hot so it's always crunchy, just the way we liked it! The Beef Pho which is pretty average tasting but still yummy and filling. Could've been better though if bean sprouts are served separately with some extra basil and lime wedge. The Roast Pork Rice which was nice too. Loved that the skin is crunchy and the meat is tasty. Least favorite would probably be the Lychee Lemonade which tastes quite sad I don't even know how to describe it. Not refreshing at all. Overall, like what I've mentioned earlier, this place is a pretty decent restaurant. Perfect for when you just want a quick and filling Vietnamese meal. We'd definitely still come back!

Very bad experience- 2/5 (Total bill - $40) We ordered 2 Banh Mi (Lemongrass Chicken) $9 each and asked them to put extra chilli and extra meat. Extra meat cost us $4 for each, we didn’t check the bill initially but later was taken back as extra meat is usually $1 or $2 extra, anyways we were like okay. we waited 15 mins or more and got the Banhi, bread was hard and too toasted. Forget about extra chilli there was no chilli at all, i went in and got some and I dont believe there was 2 layers of meat in the Banh Mi. I did go and ask them as meat was less than normal let alone extra, upon asking they kept on showing me 2 layers, well i had banh mi before, this absolutely had normal meat and fact that it was $4 extra was RIDICULOUS. Waste of $13x2 My friend ordered Rice Paper roll ($10) which was decent, she also ordered a Lychee Lemonade which showed $3 in the outside menu but $4 inside. 🙄 DEFINITELY NOT A LOCAL BUSINESS AWARD WORTH FOR SURE, Please you have to improve your customer service and food quality.

Shop: Saigon Summer @ Macquarie Park Filling amount: 3/5 Taste: 3/5 Bread: Thin crispy crust, freshly toasted Price: $8 Classic Pork and $9 Roast Pork Rating: 3/5 Both rolls had pate, mayo, coriander, cucumber, lettuce, grated and pickled carrot and daikon. Neither had shallot or onion. Bread was freshly toasted before assembly. The classic pork came with two kinds of sliced pork (cha lua and steamed pork). The roast pork had a great flavor to it and the crackling was crunchy. Unfortunately neither roll had much meat on them. We’d recommend the roast pork roll over the classic one, it had more flavor. Overall verdict: not bad, but could be better if they had shallot and more meat.

Despite (whoever it is that responds to reviews) how much they defend and praise the authenticity of their cuisine, they are either the owner or have lived a sheltered life. My bad experience started with phoning and placing an order and having taken my order and asked for the total, I was told to get my 10% off I had to order on-line. So I reluctantly hung up and ordered on line. I'd ordered 2 x seafood vermicelli salads, prawn rice paper rolls, 4 grilled pork skewers and and 4 extra seafood spring rolls. The vermicelli salads are rubbish. Not quite what you'd get at any other Vietnamese eatery, because the variety and quantity of salad vegetables are in proportion to the vermicelli. Not in Saigon. Vermicelli is they prime ingredient. Second let down, any other Vietnamese restaurant adds some form of meat like lemongrass pork - NOT HERE. That's why I bought the extra grilled pork skewers preempting the salad would lack meat. The rice paper rolls were ok, still over stuffed with vermicelli, the prawns cut thin with laser precision to lack taste and the hoisin sauce tasting neither hoisin or peanut. The truly confusing bit was the extra seafood spring rolls. They are $2.50 each. But when you order, in low light it says 3 for $4.50. so why was I charged $10 for for and only got 3? But it's OK, because they were disgusting and got binned. They might have been noted as seafood but tasted like tofu, just awful. Having paid $56 to be dissapointed gives me the right to express my dissatisfaction so please don't come back with some spurious excuse. The sum of this is you'll never have to hear me complain again because I'll...
