For a food truck, this place is a gem. I've been frequenting this truck for months, Every single time I'm there, the staff are ALWAYS so polite and very friendly. I struggle to eat at most places, but my problems disappear when their food is on my table. I challenge you to find a better place, value for money. Not once have I had a bad food experience there and I'm confident they would remake it for me if there was any serious quality issues. They have always been focused on food quality and sourcing high quality/fresh ingredients for their meals which doesn't go unnoticed in the food. I personally stopped going for a while after the spuds launch to avoid the long wait times but I can understand some frustration especially at peak. However, this is a food truck, not a resteraunt and while people are entitled to be frustrated, you're a bit silly if you see a huge crowd around a food truck and expect your wait to be short. They have gone to great lengths to reduce this by removing long cook time items, removing themselves off uber to focus on the people travelling to their truck.
Onto the food You cannot go wrong with the loaded fries with their special sauce (similar to big mac/burger sauce) or gravy loaded fries. Seriously, the salt they use is on another level and honestly I'm very impressed with how well each menu items ingredients combine together to make a beautiful amalgamation of sweet or savoury, depending on what you order. The owner is very intelligent when it comes to flavour profile, texture and the sweet/savoury aspect of their products. I've tried two of the spuds so far, butter chicken and weiner and spuds. The butter chicken spud had me scraping at the sides to extract every last drop of that delicious sauce. Spuds cooked to absolute perfection. One thing I'll say though, I would love to see 10-20% more chicken for the potato to sauce to chicken ratio then I would have ZERO complains about it. Insanity. The weiner and spuds was also very good with ridiculous cheese pulls. I'm looking forward to seeing how the other 4 spuds rank up compared to those. The loaded fries and gravy loaded fries always hit, the combination of their salt/sauce all the way through to the bottom means you're not left stabbing away at chips with barely any seasoning, cheese or sauce by the end. Price is very reasonable. I spend too much at other places for lower quality food for them to skimp on sauces because their boss wants more profit. Love this place, would highly recommend to anyone wanting quality food at non extortionist prices. Would love to see a tarp/bug zapper set-up like they had at lakemba previously before shutting down. Flies aren't a huge issue usually, but I do remember a few in previous visits. The tarp would be a nice addition to reduce icy chill and wind in general, especially moving into winter.
Overall, Incredible experience and definitely my favourite place to eat out. P.s. where do I submit...
Read moreThis is by far the best place I have eaten at EVER. I want to make notes specifically on the food and service. Get ready for a very lengthy and loving review! :)
Food: The food is always top notch, and every single day they get better and better. It's always cooked fresh too, right in front of you!
I am personally obsessed with the Gravy Loaded Fries (as you can see through my pictures haha) so I feel I can speak with confidence when I say the following; their loaded fries are consistently perfectly cooked and seasoned, and are the most delicious loaded fries EVER. The chip to topping ratio is beyond perfect. The seasoning on the chips is to die for. The gravy??? I could drink it (and I do). Those meat strips are just the icing on the cake, always perfectly cooked and add what most loaded fries are missing. Highly recommend any (and all) of their loaded fries!
The burgers are better than any burger place I've tried! I'm very picky with my burgers, and this is the only place that consistently makes a burger I feel satisfied with. The cheeseburger, though just a regular cheeseburger, tastes truly gourmet!
They've recently released their version of jacket potatoes - weiner spuds! Quick note, the potatoes are HUGE and absolutely delicious! My partner and I have only been able to try the Butter Chicken Spud (which is truly delicious - lick the plate worthy) and the Weiners and Spud (between the perfectly cooked & generous serving of sausage and those crispy fried onions and shallots.. literally speechless), but we're in love already and can't wait to try them all!
Service: The staff are always so kind, caring, and welcoming! Every time I go, no matter the time or busyness, I am greeted with patience and a smile. The staff seem like they enjoy what they're doing, and that they truly care about not only the food quality, but the customers too. Though this section is short, most of my appreciation goes to them. Phenomenal work to every staff member (including you Mr Owner)!
The wait times are awesome too; the longest I've ever had to wait was 10 minutes! Staff are always on top of it. The staff are also more than willing to accommodate if you feel your order isn't perfect! I've seen them remake others' orders!
Thank you all for your hard work, it does not go unappreciated. I highly recommend this food truck to anyone...
Read moreHonest non-bias review of the spuds from Little Weiner. I had high hopes for Little Weiner's meat spuds, but sadly, it fell short in every aspect and did not live up to what they post all over social media and TikTok.
The meat and spud was incredibly oily to the point where the entire cardboard container was soaked and on the verge of leaking by the end of the meal. Never experienced this level of oiliness from other spud trucks.
In terms of presentation, it was evident that the meal was put together in a rush. The meat and coriander were applied without much care, resulting in an unappetising appearance with meat splatter and oil coating the outside of the container. This lack of basic attention to detail was disappointing. The meal literally looked like someone took a steamy hot dump on a spud. I get this is just basic fast food, but what I got compared to what is posted on their TikTok videos (and what 'online influencers' with clout receive) are night and day.
Furthermore, the wait time for the spud was poorly communicated. I was only informed of the 40-minute wait AFTER paying. I ended up waiting closer to an hour for the spud.
Considering the price of $16 for a single medium sized potato, minced meat, cheese and some coriander, the value proposition of the meat and spud is disappointing. Other spud trucks in the area offer more toppings and bigger portions at around the same price point.
Overall, the experience with Little Weiner's meat spud was disappointing. From the portion to the presentation, and long wait time, it falls short compared to the other spud trucks in the area and does not live up to the...
