I recently had the pleasure of visiting Locale Cafe in Bronte, a charming coffee shop located conveniently near Waverley Cemetery. From the moment I walked in, I was thoroughly impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere, and my overall experience was deserving of a 5-star rating.
I started my visit with a classic cappuccino, and it was clear that the baristas at Locale take their coffee seriously. The cappuccino was expertly crafted, with a perfect balance of espresso, frothy milk, and just the right touch of cocoa on top. It was rich, aromatic, and truly satisfying – a perfect way to kickstart my morning.
For my breakfast, I decided to indulge in their buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup. The presentation was delightful, and the taste did not disappoint. The pancakes were fluffy and had that wonderful buttermilk tang, making them some of the best I've ever had. The generous drizzle of maple syrup added just the right amount of sweetness, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. Every bite was a delight, and I savored each forkful.
But what truly set Locale Cafe apart was the exceptional service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about ensuring their customers had a memorable experience. They were prompt in taking my order and made sure I had everything I needed throughout my visit. Their warm and welcoming demeanor added to the overall positive atmosphere of the cafe.
The location near Waverley Cemetery is unique and adds to the peaceful ambiance of the cafe. It's a great spot to enjoy a relaxing breakfast or a quiet coffee, whether you're visiting the cemetery or simply looking for a pleasant place to unwind.
In summary, Locale Cafe in Bronte is a true gem. The quality of both the food and service make it deserving of a 5-star review. If you're in the area and in need of a delightful coffee and breakfast experience, I highly recommend a visit to Locale Cafe. It's a wonderful spot to start your day on a...
Read moreI have eaten at this place 4 times now and have given up. There is no concept of service here whatsoever. At 11 degrees outside I asked if I could eat at the rear of the premises (where there were tables set up, and where presumably it would be warmer). I was told by a young female employee that they would prefer to "keep everyone in the front." The large open windows and doors at the front leave little protection from the outside temperature. She did eventually allow me to eat at the rear, but I felt I had to argue my case. I ordered a meal which included an extra hot flat white but it was only warm. I had to ask for water. I had to ask for a serviette. and upon delivering my meal, the waiter asked me if I wanted cutlery ! This is generally typical of my other visits here. I was left with the impression that the people who work at this place have no interest in being there, have no commitment to creating a pleasant environment for their guests, and generally have no personality at all. The food was average, the atmosphere was unwelcoming, and my experience was unpleasant. I was glad to leave. Oh yes, and what restaurant asks you to pay up front ! ? For a moment I thought I was back at my...

Since moving to the neighbourhood, this café has become my absolute go-to spot for breakfast — and honestly, I can’t imagine starting my mornings anywhere else. The staff are always so friendly, warm, and attentive, and there’s this genuine energy to the place that makes you feel welcome the second you walk in.
The food is consistently amazing — every single time. You can really taste the care that goes into it, and the kitchen team clearly knows what they’re doing. Whether it’s a classic brekkie or something a little different, it always comes out fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented.
What really makes this place special, though, is the team. The waitstaff are so kind and switched-on — they always remember your order, check in at just the right time, and make the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. There’s such a lovely sense of community here, like they genuinely care about their regulars.
This café isn’t just a great spot to eat — it’s become one of my favourite things about living in Bronte. Couldn’t...
