A sneaky breakfast and drinks before our flight to Hammo.
Most nearby venues had QR code ordering and long coffee queues, but this spot was free, had proper table service, and seemed more like a PM drinks venue than a breakfast stop—perfect for us.
We ordered: • Bloody Mary (and a second—one just isn’t enough at 8:30am) • Mimosa (x2, for the same reason) • Avocado on Sourdough (V, GFO) – Beetroot hummus, whipped feta, dukkah, with a side of fried eggs • Scrambled Eggs on Sourdough (GFO) – Tomato & basil salsa, with added bacon and hash browns
The Bloody Marys and Mimosas were a perfect start to a day heading to an island getaway.
The avocado on sourdough was fresh and vibrant, with the beetroot hummus adding a unique twist. A steak knife would have helped tackle the crusty bread.
The scrambled eggs were good—though my tastebuds were slightly distracted by the Bloody Mary flavours. The tomato & basil salsa was a nice touch.
A minor hiccup: the waiter misheard my order and brought two servings of eggs. Also could only do fried as a side, even though I ordered scrambled eggs.??
Overall, it was fine for a pre-flight bite and drinks, but more for convenience than a “must-do”...
Read moreAppalling service it hurt to watch and ended up joining other customers in just collecting food from the open kitchen.. This place has an open kitchen in which you can see your food being made. It is an interesting and a nice touch until you see the staff walking past your food and it being sat their under heat lamps for 20 minutes. The staff at the bistro were more worried about the passing customers on the outside of the cafe that they forgot about the paying ones inside. Moreover, once they had cleared the queue of this they would hang by the fridge and every now and then collect some coffee cups and walk straight past the food. In the end you could see every customer was just looking at their food sat there and a number of us went up to collect. Felt bad for the chef who was very apologetic and said he was asking them to take it but they didn’t (which was true). Due to this the food came out luke warm and because we had a flight to catch and wasted enough time waiting we...
Read moreI ordered a large Chai Latte which cost $9.09 and turned out to be lukewarm and average. I was sitting in the outer area charging my phone while having my Latte for two minutes when a waitress came over and said she was cleaning the area and asked me and a few others to move inside. Since all charging ports inside were occupied I wandered around and came back to charge my phone as it was on 2% and my boarding pass was on it; I was desperate. I had finished the Latte by this time. After a few minutes the same waitress came and told me the area was closed after cleaning. I moved on a second time. However as I sit at the gate opposite Luke's waiting to board my flight I can see many others in the said "closed" area charging their phones. Overpriced, average and rude. Note to self:...
