Everything was absolutely perfect! I purchased a cake as a surprise for a birthday mind you I live in Texas and the bakery helped me so much to make sure the surprise was there! I purchased the cake a month in advance and I'm so grateful they had online orders available first of all. Second I emailed the bakery about 2 days prior to ask how the cake recipient could pick up the cake and I explained the situation. The bakery was amazing and ensured that they would take care of everything and they did! The box was covered with bakery paper to keep the identity of the cake a secret until right before it was going to be eaten and the employees seemed to all be aware of the situation. The cake was intended for a Sicilian and the flavor of the cake was perfect. I got a small cake intended for approximately 5 servings however I doubt that it will last that long since the taste of the cake seems to be perfect and is being eaten for breakfast lunch and dinner!

Once again Thank YOU Maggio's for making this a very special birthday both in experience with amazing customer service and flavor...

The place is probably the best place to enjoy Italian-style pastries in Sydney North Shore area. We usually shop here whenever we visited Cammeray and buy its ricotta cannoli, ricotta cheesecake, various biscotti, croissant and bombolini donuts. They're all nice, but we especially love the cheesecake and donuts. Their products run-out so quickly especially on weekend days, so you better come early. Prices are a bit high but expected in this kind of establishment in a suburb like Cammeray. IMHO, their pastries' quality are not inferior compared to their more famous competitors in the Little Italy suburb i.e. Haberfield. However, the pastries tend to be very sweet for our taste-buds.

You can pay with all types credit cards with additional surcharges (Amex...

I have always been a customer of Maggios however I have found that in recent times things are not as great as they were. The pavement is dirty and so many dogs licking our legs and shaking with dog hairs flying into our food. we have a dog that is our world but others don't need to eat its hairs. Also the amount of pigeons landing on our table and leaving their droppings was awful. The previous visit a few weeks earlier was nice but ended dissappointgly as the young waitress told us that they were closing in 1/2 hour and she took our coffee away and dessert and returned with them in a take away cup and paper bag and pointed us to the bench and said we can finish our coffee over there. I was in disbelief. This establishment is iconic but something has changed. Always...

I went to Maggio's bakery and bought the celebration box. It included a selection of five different small cakes- chocolate, tiramisu, carrot, lemon meringue and Milano, which is a coconut and raspberry cake. I have been here a few times before and remembered the cakes and pastries to be a lot better than they were on this occasion. A bit disappointingly, the cakes I got today were unremarkable. The tiramisu and Milano were better than the others, but they all tasted quite average. They weren't bad but not great either. Care went into making each cake look good, but this didn't make up for the taste. I got a takeaway box and the cakes didn't travel too well. This isn't necessarily the fault of the bakery though. They slid on the seat in the car.

This place had come highly recommended and it lived up to it. Delicious fresh pastries with some of the classics like almond croissants as well as more unique ones like the hazelnut cream filled buttery and flaky pastry disc. Also tried the special pastry of the day which was a banana caramel chocolate croissant. A little too decadent for my liking but amazingly prepared and presented nonetheless. The panini was also excellent and we tried the raspberry gelato from the cafe too which was also very nice. Worth the visit and will be back for sure.
