Food was actually pretty decent for Bankstown, but most of the dishes lacked seasoning which was a letdown. They had ran out of kids steak at already 5.30pm. Had to get the $59 steak instead and when asked if we could have children portion salad and veggies we also got charged for those separately as well for a 3 year old child. Not sure how a steak place runs out of kids steak at such an early time and why the steaks on hand couldn’t just be cut in half to accomodate for the kids menu. This wasn’t also communicated at the time of sitting down at the table and only mentioned during ordering of meals. Service wasn’t great, especially considering the restaurant wasn’t even busy. Drinks took a while to arrive both before dinner and again after. Our meals took over an hour to come out and pretty much as we started eating, we were told our table was needed soon. We asked if the water jug could just stay on the table but were told they didn’t have enough to go around. They said they’d come by regularly to top up, but that didn’t happen. We had to try and get their attention every time we needed more water. The supervisor could see we were clearly frustrated. We said if we knew we’d be told to leave right after getting our meals, we wouldn’t have booked. Their response was that we could stay for another 10–15 minutes to finish eating, but the way it was said came off a bit rude. In the end, they managed to move one of our tables so we could stay, order dessert and not feel rushed anymore, which we appreciated. The steaks were honestly great, but the poor customer service left a bitter taste based on this experience, I wouldn’t return. We were here celebrating 2 of our family member birthday and we drove far to get here too as we had heard good stuff. I would give less for the service however the steak was nice so it deserves the 3*...
Read moreWe were served by NIKKI on a Wednesday, in one of the carriages, and she was absolutely amazing. Since it’s Ramadan we went to Marrow and Co to break our fast but we didn’t realise there wouldn’t be anywhere to pray. I asked Nikki if there was somewhere for me and the group to pray and she was very kind and caring - organising an empty carriage where me and two others could pray. Her service was amazing throughout. There was a difficult couple sitting next to us who was giving her a tough time but she was so kind and professional towards them. She even came back after a food complaint from that couple and took the food off their bill after escalating it to the kitchen. She also offered them free dessert, which was refreshing to see, that such service still exists. The only downside I would say is that the place is extremely low in staff. Although Nikki was amazing, it looked like she was looking after more tables than a typical server should ever be assigned, and this was the case with all the staff. They staff seemed to be constantly under the pump and overworked. Due to this we had to wait a very long time to get our food and this was the case with other customers around us too, especially one a Wednesday. Some customers had to physically get up and ask staff where their dessert was etc. On our way out Nikki stayed amazing and even offered to let us use the room to pray again before we left. It felt so good to be considered as a Muslim family and Nikki gets 10/5 stars...
Read moreI think I'm in love with the Beef Wellington at Marrow & Co.
It was the perfect luxe date night meal to celebrate our child free (thank you grandparents🙏) long weekend. At Marrow & Co they're passionate about premium Australian beef with over 13 handpicked cuts, including their signature dry aged Riverine Tomahawk and premium Wagyu. Alongside these, their in-house dry aging program further elevates selected cuts, enhancing their depth of flavour and tenderness to offer a steak unlike any other. To complement each dish, we enjoyed a sommelier-curated wine list, premium spirits, and signature cocktails, each selected to enhance every note of our meal.
The Tomahawk was spectacular in size and quality but the Beef Wellington really stole my heart, paired with the rich and luscious Red Wine Jus, sides of mash, onion rings, roasted bone marrow and greens, perfectly complemented by a glass of Cote Du Rhone.
The fit-out is also on another level, with New York steakhouse vibes and 2 fully decked out train carriages as dining rooms. The detail put into this restaurant is astounding and it seems that no expense has been spared. It really felt like we were transported to another time and place.
More than a place to indulge in exceptional steak, Marrow & Co. is a destination for those of us seeking a refined and memorable meal. We loved our experience, where outstanding food and service came together for an unforgettable journey in...
