Place was highly recommended to me so I came here on Sat to try their lunch special. I saw that the lunch special main had an option for extra: spicy $1, pork $2, curry $3, salmon $4 or seafood $4. I ordered the BBQ beef meal, and asked if I can add extra pork as that was the only meat listed as extra. The waitress said that the extra pork is only for pork mains so I asked that if I added extra beef would that be the same price as the pork. She thought about it and replied yes. After she took the orders and she repeated the order back to us, I asked her again about the extra beef being $2 extra which she replied yes again. However, when we went to pay the bill I was shocked to find out the extra beef costed $6 extra - this meant the lunch special meal which is $12 normally costed me $18 as a result! The waitress we ordered from was only a few meters away from the cashier so I said out loud to her "You told me the extra beef is $2", and the waitress said "Oh..." and looked sheepish in response. The cashier saw all this but didn't change the price, instead just said that the waitress is new. I definitely wouldn't had ordered the extra beef if I knew my meal was going to cost one and a half times the original price! I also don't understand why the extra beef costs more than extra salmon and extra seafood... I specifically asked about the price of the extra beef twice, and I was told the wrong info twice. So my overall experience was soured by the bad customer service - the waitress not checking with other staff about the price, and the cashier not rectifying the situation.

Came in hungry, left full… but emotionally unfulfilled. Okonomiyaki? More like okono-why-though. A doughy mystery pancake with a chicken cameo so brief it should’ve been credited as an extra. DNA traces of cabbage. The sauce tried to save it—but even it looked like it gave up halfway through. Pretty disappointed. Yakisoba Chicken was serviceable and budget-friendly, but the “rich flavor” in the description didn’t quite translate. The noodles filled us up, though the chicken quality was average. Beef cholpan finally showed up to the party with some decent protein and flavour - but even then, it felt like the chef got halfway through caring and then took a smoke break. Good value and filling portions make this a solid choice if you’re watching your wallet - but if you’re chasing bold flavors or a standout dish, you might want to explore other spots. If you decide to give it a go, keep your expectations at medium heat.

The service here is good and really friendly! We ordered a medium sashimi and a chef's special roll (crunchy shrimp). The sashimi came with 6 slices of salmon, 4 slices of tuna and 4 slices of king fish(I think). The sashimi was very fresh and came with accompaniments of pickled ginger, hand-grated wasabi and grated radishes. As for the special roll, this was very large! Could be approximately the size of a child's arm, and very much well worth the amount paid for it. The ingredients used don't taste stale, and the flavours mingle well Having been to Japan, I think this is the closest I have had to authentic Japanese food, though clearly the dishes are made to accommodate an Australian palate. As a result, I strongly recommend giving this place a go! They also provide other dishes, though these might not be their specialties! 😄

Ate there tonight. I've been personally a few times so suggested it before a movie with 3 others.

There's no longer any table service which wasn't made clear... after a while we figured it out. No problem. Then their online menu doesnt actually correspond to their actual menu in terms of regular sushi rolls. But due to no table service you cant actually ask anyone about it.

My wife ordered through the online portal, it stated 'basic roll is salmon' when she was in the salmon roll menu. She asked me if this meant it was included or the salmon +$2 was for extra salmon. We both agreed it was extra salmon because it clearly stated 'basic roll is salmon' or something to that description.

When it arrived and there was no salmon, we mentioned it, as you would. Who ever it was ( we suspect the owner) argued with us and said we made the mistake and its our fault. He was quite aggresive towards us and when i got the menu out and showed him on his own site what it said he said 'yes thats not what it means, you made a mistake, and a lot of people make this mistake' or something to that manner.

Here's an insight... if a lot of people are making that same mistake then it means it's not clear. It's not rocket science.

Anyway, we had to ask for everything multiple times, ginger, wasabi etc etc. Everytime getting up to ask instead if sitting down and just enjoying our food. After we asked once for some ginger and wasabi and they said yes and forgot about us I went up to ask again... I was then told to go help myself (aggressively, by the same guy) and he pointed to it. Which I did because its not a hard job really... at this point the staff tried to run over and apologised for forgetting after i was halfway through serving it up for myself.

Food was average, sushi rice was overcooked, but addmittedly it did come out very fast. 5/10 for quality. Service was a 0. Sort your attitude out. Rest of the staff seemed alright but simply understaffed.

I suspect the main guy who's argumentative is the owner and understaffs to save money... so I dont blame the young girl for forgetting our stuff. They should have another server on at least.

Overall experience 2/5. Won't be back. Will recommend...

Definitely won’t be returning after today’s experience. When entering, we were asked to take a seat but after more than 5 minutes, no one came to take our order. We waved someone down and were told we had to order using the QR code on the table. We ordered, and the California roll my partner ordered came out as 8 all vegetable rolls with crab and roe piled on top. When my partner said that he ordered a normal California roll (crab and avocado in a roll), he was told he ordered wrong and they couldn’t do anything. He asked to swap to a regular California roll as this is what he was trying to order but the website was very difficult to navigate. He was told he would be charged $6 extra (on top of an already pricey $15 roll) to get the correct order. At this time, there were about 5 or 6 other tables in the restaurant and every single one was given a paper menu and had their order taken by a person. We waited over 15 minutes and the new roll didn’t come. He confronted the man at the counter, who said he never put the second roll through. He refused to offer any discount for the uneaten sushi and obviously had no intention of fixing their mistake. Terrible customer service and terrible experience - we used to be locals but will not return after today and will happily tell our friends...
