Moore Park View Hotel — Restaurant in Sydney

I used to visit this place frequently, especially when we wanted to eat out or avoid cooking. It’s the closest option, and we would often come here daily. However, today’s experience was extremely disappointing and upsetting.

We ordered steak, but the wait time was unusually long, and my child was getting hungry. I carefully approached the kitchen to check how much longer it might take and whether our steak was ready. While I was discreetly looking, one of the staff members rudely asked for my table number, checked my order, and said, “Your steak is well-done. That takes over 30 minutes. *Don’t come like that *.”

I apologized and returned to my seat. But as soon as I sat down, the buzzer rang. When I went to pick up my order, the same person rudely told me, “If you want fast food, go to Hungry Jack’s.”

This was extremely disrespectful. I didn’t even complain or make a fuss; I simply checked the kitchen due to the delay. Moreover, when I finally got the steak, it was smaller than usual, not well-done as I ordered, and even had blood in it.

I paid $28 for a cheap rump steak, only to be treated this way. This is unacceptable. I realized that just because this place is convenient doesn’t mean I need to tolerate such poor service.

I felt so uncomfortable and disrespected that I left the restaurant,I didn't eat and leaving my husband and child behind. I want to make it clear that I didn’t say anything rude or disrespectful to the staff, and there was absolutely no reason for them to act so unprofessionally and rudely toward me.

Went to this pub for the second time. We walked through the foyer to the outdoor area as their was a person smoking there. Lights were turned off but we didn't know any better. We didn't smoke or drink yet when a person came through with a security guard and started telling at us , there is no smoking here and this area is closed, you are dirtying my place. We left to go inside without any issues. Problem is, he didn't say anything to the Caucasian who was smoking there. After I found out he was drinking with his mates. With great sadness I wrote this review as for years this was my favorite pub in Sydney and I considered myself and my family as a regulars (coming on a weekly basis). However, steer clear if you have little ones. Unfortunately, this pub falls short when it comes to accommodating families with young children on a quiet evening. The grumpy manager, whose lack of understanding hospitality leaves much to be desired, creates an unwelcoming vibe for little ones.
