New Yatra Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Sydney

My true rating is 3.5, so I'm erring towards generosity. Had a takeaway last night wanting to give this place a go. Had Aloo Tiki, Tandoori chicken, lamb Korma and a beef Vindaloo plus rice and plain naans. Packaging (for transport) showed care and thought. Aloo Tiki was brilliant, Tandoori chicken was nice but a bit on the dry side, Korma, again brilliant and Vindaloo had terrific sauce but the beef was like old tyres. I truly want this place to prosper because we need a good Indian restaurant in the area other than AJ's in Eastwood (even though last visit it was a bit of a let down). So areas you need to improve, phone service was pretty ordinary, it was like having a conversation with a senile old aunt. You offer a 15% discount on takeaway, you need to advertise that, seriously. Timing - was told 30 minutes (which seemed a bit long, but OK), wasn't told about the extra 15 minutes on top. Naans need to be a bit thinner and bit more buttery. We ordered food from this restaurant (via menulog) a few days ago, it was ordered at 7pm with the expected delivery time at 7.45pm. We waited and wait until 8.45pm and called the restaurant for an update. They said the driver is on route and would be 10-15mins. 9.15pm rolled around and nothing came. We rang the restaurant at nearly 9.30pm for a refund since it's more than 2hours since we ordered, the restaurant even changed the status of the delivery to "delivered"which was an outright lie. They said they will give us a refund but we never got it or heard back. When we rang a day later, they changed their tune and said they can't give a refund and we need to contact menulog. We did of course contacted menulog but they said it was the restaurant's responsibility to refund. We've since contacted the restaurant once more and they will not do anything. They've taken our money, didn't deliver food after 2.5hours after its order, lied about it being delivered, keeps changing their tune about resolution and will not take any responsibility for it. Never Try this place Stay away from here. Food is pathetic. I did not have an option to give half a star, if there was one I would have gone with half a star. The food that I ordered was pathetic, I am not exaggerating it was pathetic to say the least. I ordered Paneer Dosai, the paneer stuffing tasted awful. It did not have salt, to me it looked like the chef prepared it just for my order and forgot to add salt in it may be I should have ordered masala dosai but either way the sambar, coconut chutney and tomato chutney were all awful. I’ve never tasted a tomato chutney that bad, the sambar tasted just like chilli powder added to hot water with some vegetables. My wife ordered Chole Poori and the channa masala tasted disgusting, the fresh taste of tomato base was noticeable to us and it felt like it was uncooked .
