After reading all the reviews, thought we gave it a try. Korean making Japanese cuisine.
I am not sure how they got this ratings unless the ratings were for the previous owners.
There were 3 of us and ended up with 8 dishes, 7 main and 1 entre.
We ordered more than what we should because there was an communication issue. Some wait staff spoke very little English and said some of our orders were cancelled because it was closing time and ran out of sashimi so we ordered other food fried dishes instead. But they ALL turned up so by tge end of tge night, it cost us just under $130, no drinks, for a family of 3.
We found the scallop sushi was nice, a 4 star. Tonkutsu Ramen soup was terrible and has other vegetable in it which it don't normally come with it, a 2 star. In fact, they should not even have that dish on the menu because they don't know how to make this dish and ruining the reputation of the Japanese Tonkutsu ramen.
The Sashimi was ordinary, its not really a dish you can stuff up but it tastes like a cheap cut. Honestly, you want a excellent sashimi, go to Tanomi Japanese at lidcombe. It's a different quality and slightly more expensive. But you paid for what you get and you get what you paid for
Chicken Karaage was fresh and tender, not too much batter, a 4 star.
My son had an Udon soup and he said it wasn't very nice or authentic so he left half of it behind but his eel rice dish was good
Overall it's OK, the serrving are generous but they have missed the point for the tonkutsu ramen and upon soup dishes. They should really stick to the rice dishes. If you are looking for good sushi and for a cheap meal then go there but if you are looking for quality ramen soup and high quality sashimi, there are better places but need to pay more. Honestly, I would rather pay a bit more to have nice food.
Overall for us, we probably won't go back. Glad we...

We started our culinary escapade with the tempura, a crispy delight that perfectly balanced lightness and flavor. The assortment of vegetables and seafood showcased the chef's expertise in achieving that elusive crispy perfection.
Next up, the sushi platter was a feast for the senses. Each piece was a work of art, meticulously crafted with fresh fish and perfectly seasoned rice. The combination of flavors and textures danced on our taste buds, leaving us craving for more.
Moving on to the ramen, we were transported to the bustling streets of Tokyo with every slurp of the savory broth. The noodles were cooked to perfection, and the toppings added depth and richness to the dish.
The pork katsu was a revelation in itself, with a golden-brown crust giving way to tender, juicy meat. Paired with a tangy sauce, it was a symphony of flavors that left us longing for seconds.
The spring rolls were a delightful surprise, with a crispy exterior giving way to a medley of vegetables and savory goodness. Each bite was a burst of flavor, perfectly complemented by the accompanying dipping sauce.
Last but not least, the chicken karaage was a spicy delight that warmed both the body and soul. The tender chicken was bathed in a flavorful curry sauce, creating a dish that was both comforting and exhilarating.

Read moreMoeru is always usually really good and I've had no issues in the past. Unfortunately my last visit wasn't great. We came as a group of 7 and 3 of us had not arrived yet so they gave us a table of 4. That's understandable. Someone on our table put our name down for a table for 3 prior to them sitting down. By the time us 3 arrived it had been about 20 minures passed and there were about 7 new groups outside and we were 4th on the list with an approx 30mins wait time which was fine and expected.
We then proceeded to wait over 1hr-1.5hrs in total even though they had tables for 2 ppl or tables for 4ppl available multiple times within the extra 30mins+ we waited. We only found out much later because originally there were 4x 2-4 tables in front of us, then later there was a table of 8 and a table of 5 in front of us and who came after us as well... then it was discovered that for tables that could fit 4 people they choose groups of 4 people over a group of 3 people in the assumption that 4 person table would purchase more food than that of a 3 person table! I was gobsmacked because if that was the case, there would never be a 3 person table available.
We were about to leave after they kept telling us a different waiting time each time - but was called for our table as soon as we got up to leave. We had to chase them numerous times and even the other half of our table who ate first had finished and we still had to wait. And seating time per session is 1hr.
I am hoping this is a one time thing and staff was just poorly managed on that day. I haven't ever had an issue like this as moeru is a go-to for our families and the food is generally...
