Newroz Restaurant — Restaurant in Sydney

I came for the food but left not only with a full stomach of delicious, made with love food - but with a real fondness for the owners and staff that worked at the restaurant. What warm, friendly, genuine people, a rare breed in Sydney. The food reflected their souls. My friend and I were wowed by how tasty our food was. I love the on the house lentil soup - a wonderful unique selling point for Newroz.

I ate the grilled fish tikka and chicken tikka with salad and bread. The stand out for me was the fish tikka. Soft, and full of flavour. Not dry at all. The chicken tikka was very good - again not dry. Still I loved the fish tikka and would order this again. My friend also had fish tikka and lamb tikka. Again loved both, especially the fish.

The bread which is made in house is incredible. Soft and pillowy.

We also ate a Newroz speciality - a rice dish jam packed with big personality spices topped with pieces of lamb neck. Utterly delicious!

I can’t wait to return. Next time I will order the grilled butterfly fish.

Number 1 favourite restaurant in Fairfield and worth a drive if you don’t live in the area.

I had the most wonderful experience at this Kurdish/Iraqi restaurant with a friend! The food was absolutely delicious with such generous portions. The meal came with a lentil soup appetiser, and we even got traditional Kurdish tea at the end of the meal on the house! The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the service felt so genuine. The highlight was the owner, who was beyond sweet and even gave us some extra food to take home 🥹 such a thoughtful gesture that really made our night. If you’re looking for amazing Kurdish/Iraqi food paired with great hospitality, I couldn’t recommend this place more! We will be back...

We just had dinner at Newroz with my mum,. i had the braised lamb neck with rice/veggies /bread and soup and mum had beef skewers with salad and bread….the food was delicious 🤤 so tasty and enough to keep me going until lunch time tmrw. The restaurant is very clean and has a nice homely feel with great vibe. The owner very pleasant. I rate this place 👍👍 definitely...
