Wednesday 3rd May, lunchtime. I was there first time with my parents and I'm surprised people had been giving almost a 5 star review:-
atmosphere is not comfortable and there are traffic noises and the restaurant is small, therefore defines the cramped space.
had seafood Laksa and there's only one mussel, two prawns, two fish balls, 3 squid pieces....could be more portions for the price they're giving. And the laksa needs more flavour. It was almost bland.
my dad had the crispy chicken with egg noodles. Noodles were almost soggy, soup was very light (almost bland), and crispy chicken wasn't even crispy, and still lesser portions than they give anywhere else.
my mum had beef noodle soup and it was almost bland. Almost had no flavour. And portion's way too small for the price
loved the lady's service. Her service was showing that she is caring.
Vietnamese iced coffee was nice, could be stronger in coffee taste though.
Unfortunately, after this experience, not coming back. It is way too expensive for the portions they give. There are better Vietnamese restaurant at Riverwood and Cabra Vale, along with cabramatta and Canley heights. More flavoursome and they actually fill up the bowls/ plates!!!
But thank you...
Read moreA hidden gem. Random stop because I was hungry. Walked in and the vibe was pleasant although it’s on a busy road. Laksa on the menu and anyone who has read a review from me knows I’m an evangelical Laksa aficionado so @ 20% more expensive than Hunter street, they better deliver at $20.50
Laksa is judged on the stock and I can tell that this is made from scratch by someone that understands how laksa should taste. Ritchie, full flavoured with a balance of sweet and savoury at a perfect consistency. My one minor criticism was the dish ingredients was not at equal temperature. The prawns were noticeably colder than the dish initially.
Ingredients were fresh and it was well presented. I would have given a perfect score aside for the price which I consider, despite the quality is about $3 too much.
The idea that a Vietnamese restaurant (personal quinine favourite) can serve authentic Laksa has this foodie quite happy. All this considering the chef is apparently Chinese who trained with a Malaysian?
If their Laksa bid this good, I’ll be back to try their...
Read moreWe went here for an early dinner before going to Olympic Park on the train for a concert, and it was the absolute best. It took us back to holidays in Vietnam. The Pho Ga was just what I needed. The laksa was amazing. Perfectly crispy spring rolls and chicken. The service was so good. The waitress was so friendly and catered to our needs of friends with seafood allergy with no problems. She happily offered to try less chilli in the laksa and see how that goes. Half a chilli was great. Table water was brought and refilled for us. There was plenty of seating at 5pm but I could imagine the locals packing this place out later on - it's that good. We all had the best dinner and were so glad we went here. Particularly after seeing the massive queues for expensive food trucks selling nothing special when we got to Olympic Park with our full bellies and fond memories of Ngoodles. Highly recommended and if were ever back in the area, we'll be...
