Firstly, when we arrived at the restaurant, three of the tables were dirty with food left by previous guests, and it was smelly. We thought it might be busy, so we waited. In the meantime, the Nepalese lady looked very busy, which was completely understandable.
After waiting for some time, we ordered food at 7:42 p.m., and she brought us our first dish — tandoori chicken — around 7:55 p.m. We thought it was quite quick, but later we realised it was the worst timing to try something new. We were still waiting for our three different naans and butter chicken, which unfortunately only arrived at 8:48 p.m. By then, our tandoori chicken had gone cold as we were waiting to eat it with the naan. We had to ask the girl to warm it up for us. She did apologise for the delay, but it didn’t matter anymore as our expectations regarding wait time were already gone.
Surprisingly, there was another girl — I assumed she might be helping out — who finally started clearing the messy tables we saw when we first entered, but only around 8:30 p.m. I honestly don’t know if she was staff or not, but I’ve never seen anyone working that slowly in a restaurant. I don’t mean to sound rude, but she didn’t even bother asking us or any other nearby guests anything, and the way she took her time just to pick up a single dirty spoon or plate made me wonder, “What is she even doing?”
That said, I can’t blame the Nepalese girl — she was handling in-house orders, Uber orders, and transactions all by herself. I’ve worked in fast-paced environments myself, so I understand what good service should look like.
If you have a lot of time to wait, you might still enjoy this restaurant. But for me, it’s just not worth it.

Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at this Nepalese restaurant and I must say, it was an absolute delight. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a friendly atmosphere. The decor was authentic and inviting, transporting me to the heart of himalaya.
But the real star of the show was the food. Every dish was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. The spices and aromas were simply divine, and I couldn't get enough. The momos were especially outstanding, with a perfect balance of tender meat and savory spices. And the dal bhat was a true masterpiece, with each element complementing the other perfectly.
The service was also top-notch, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who were happy to answer any questions I had about the menu. Overall, I can't recommend this restaurant enough. It's clear that the chefs and staff take pride in their work and are committed to providing a truly exceptional dining experience. Five stars...
Read moreThis is such a truly hidden gem! Tucked away from the other side of the busy Liverpool st in the heart of Ashfield. We dined in during weekends at dinner time but the restaurant was empty. Later on a few groups came but not too busy. The lady serving us at first and then the owner are both so welcoming and friendly. He kept coming to check on us about the food which level up the whole dining experience. Our meal started with complimentary pappadum and it was yum! Butter chicken was nicely flavoured and not too sweet like some other place, has a charred smoky tender chicken pieces (however some pieces are way too burnt which affected the taste) and creamy tomato sauce. Daal makhni is buttery, nutty and well cooked. Generous portion of plain rice and garlic naan was also good. Loved the swivel chairs that made sitting down much more comfortable. Table was covered with white paper so clean and hygienic. I can’t wait to come back again soon to try...
