Boy, do these guys know how to sandwich. I mean, these bad boys are proper, filling, honest-to-goodness, behemoths. There’s more to North’s than just the size, however. The ingredients are always fresh, and they offer a very good selection on their menu. Chipotle Chicken is a favourite of mine, but honestly you’ll be best off rotating between a few, as there are several worth trying. The bread is practically famous, offering a lovely, wide variety to suit all tastes. Safe to say, I’m a huge fan. Whether it’s a sanga on the go, one for the office, or a whole catering requirement, I simply cannot recommend these guys any more passionately. They’ve been around forever, and their quality never drops, and they still get lines out the door. Surely that says more than any words I can put...

Not only does North Sandwiches make an awesome sandwich, they make a brilliant burger too!

Finding a burger joint with a "burger with the lot" is not that hard these days. The delicious mix of beetroot, egg, and bacon added to a standard burger is one I'd eat daily (if my diet allowed). But finding somewhere that also let's you choose the type of bread, and then has both chipolte and habenero sauces available to spice up said burger is worth much more than the $10 it cost.

Not only was the burger delicious, it was juicy and fresh. The egg could have been a little runnier, but other than that, I find it hard to fault. Now the only issue is deciding whether to have a delicious big arse sandwich, or stunning burger. You...

Normally they do amazing burgers 🍔, but my latest visits have been somewhat dissapointing.

My burgers have been squashed and it seems like there is no love when packed. The bun was dry and broken - almost like someone had previously bitten into it. The patty doesn't taste as fresh and it seems the burger has gone noticeably smaller.

Service has also been lacking as I'm usually given my order, all neatly packed paper bag. These days it was just handed directly to me in the box with nothing else. I had to ask for the usual serviettes, etc.

I also would not recommend the combo, as it is just overcooked chips with a can of drink for an additional $7.50 on top of the regular...

Worth the hype... I ate the hot bird on white sourdough on my first day in AUS. I was jetlagged from a multi-flight trip from the US east coast, utterly starved, and this sando was just what I needed. The queue was quite reasonable and I went at just a bit after noon on a Wednesday. *Heads up to other foreigners like me: Other reviewers mention ordering online to beat the rush, but travelers should know that you need a "valid" - i.e., Aussie - phone number to place an order on their website. Come early-ish to beat the queue.

The sandwiches get their due appreciation here, but I don't think the salad bowls get enough attention. For an extra $2 you can turn any sandwich into a quinoa/kale salad that is seriously better than any salad options in the area. This one has grilled chicken, kale, quinoa, sweet potato, carrot, spring onion, walnuts - downside is they're not really a salad bar so you can't pick or choose ingredients, but I still go through several of these a week.
