Norton's — Restaurant in Sydney

I'm going to guess from staff comments that this place is recently under new management. I asked if they had a Jack Daniels and coke cans or bottles and was told no. However that also come back with questions "was this normal" And "we probably should". I felt like this was being taken on board for future improvements.

I have to say it was mainly staff interaction that prompted me to give 5 stars. I found the menu a little limited in lunch choices. This could just be a personal thing.

I ordered the fish and chips. When it was brought to my table, I was asked if I'd like any other sauces or anything to go with my fish. I didn't at the time. I started to eat and thought I'd like some pepper and salt. I asked the staff members who very politely got me a pepper and salt shakers. It was right next to the serving counter and clearly obvious that it was something I should have grabbed myself. It was great to not be met with any attitude as I was aware at that time my question had been stupid. The staff member could have been bothered with my dumb question but she wasn't.

I believe this place has good potential and i suspect it will grow into a really great place if they continue...

Haven't been here in 2 years, food was decent pub grub. Problems began with ordering a beer, single pour and took my cash and got change. Had to work out price of beer from my change, never mentioned prices. Happened 5 times on the 6th I asked can you pour my beer properly in 2 pulls. LOL I had to stop him and teach him how to pour a beer. Also 25 years experience as a pub manager in inner west( born and bread in stanmmore) and 5 years in restaurants and clubs. Manager then procedes to check myself out and mates( we are spending money)Place was a mess, he cleaned while bar staff stood there, lol manager teach him to pour a beer and work. The bar doesn't need holding up,make them move or sack them but you're the manager lol you're the problem. Manager was not on floor for 2 hours, what do you bludgers do in the office. This review is about a year late I’m sorry but I wanted to show my gratitude. I had an incident where my Uber driver dropped me to this pub by mistake and refused to take me home, I went in the pub to try charge my phone- dressed vibrantly after coming from a concert and feeling vulnerable in an area I was unfamiliar with. The manager (I assume) gave me a charger, glass of water and even changed the duke box for me making sure I had a safe Uber to take me home- not expecting me to buy anything for his hospitality. As a young woman this sort of kindness is unfortunately not common and I hope that employee reads this and knows he made me feel safe late at night alone and lost and how appreciated his kindness was.
