My first memory of going here was in the seventies as a child. Fast forward 15 years and I went there for staff functions with workmates. Last night I returned with a couple of those workmates.
Whilst the decor doesn't dazzle you as you enter (think laminate tables with green and red paper napkins), The food certainly does.
I shared the calamari as an entree with my friend, the serving the serving was small was the flavour was tasty. As a main, I ordered the swordfish off the specials board. It was delicious, accompanied by a rich tomato, onion and caper sauce. The flavours were magnificent. We shared a fresh salad with the crispest iceberg lettuce, and a variety of vegetables and a plate of cauliflower, spinach and chips.
I had no room for dessert but a friend had the tiramisu and it looked delicious. Margaret, our waitress, was friendly, explaining the specials board and the history of the restaurant.
