Osso Penrith!!! Was our all time favourite " lash out" choice of venue to dine at usually for dinner. Now it's bahn mi and food court sushi We hadn't been since before I was pregnant because I couldn't order a steak less then medium rare and pair it with a full bodied merlot. Our son is now 6 months old and we decided it was time to revisit the old favourite.... WOW is all I can say. I didn't even take any photos I was just enjoying the moment plus my bub decided that he wanted to make the biggest fuss whilst on our biggest dining bill since he decided to rear his big head earth side
Firstly, while I was signing up to become a member my partner took our son in to see if we could find a table fitting a pram our waiter and I'm embarrassed because I do not remember his name so if he is on here and served table 23 lunch today I hope you see this and we hope that our little cash tip helps you to enjoy what you do because you're AMAZING and we thank you! Sat my partner our baby and served my partner drinks and made them both comfortable. He offered to have bottles heated if we needed them he offered to help make our boy comfortable in anyway. Offering advice being first time parents and he could see that. Encouraging us to take our time and enjoy ourselves. Cheering for us once he finally was asleep and providing crisp savs and coronas Absolutely impeccable customer service
We devoured starting from the deli
*Feta stuffed crumbed and fried Sicilian olives
*Chargrilled octopus 🤤 ( could have been a main) dressed with the tastiest spiced oil, crispy potato marinated olives, olive tapenade and other little goodies
300g new York sirloin with jacket potato sour cream paired with a red wine jus
Double beef ribs paired with baked sweet potato and cinnamon butter
3 sav Blanc's and 3 coronas
$230 plus tip ( the service though was priceless) honestly
Out bloody standing! It's not something we would be able to do all the time due to the cost of living but i have ZERO regrets in our spontaneous lunch decision
Thank you Osso a credit to you for having such wonderful staff who clearly enjoy what they do and working for your...
Read moreFor quite some time, dining at Osso had been on our list based on numerous glowing recommendations from friends and family. Unfortunately, our visit was nothing short of a disaster.
Out of the 11 guests in our party, seven were served meals that were not only cold but completely lacked flavour. The quality of the food was far below expectation — bland, poorly presented, and certainly not reflective of the prices charged. The service left much to be desired. While our initial waiter was polite, the experience quickly deteriorated as three different staff members served our table with no clear communication between them. Even after providing immediate feedback on the poor temperature and taste of the meals, nothing was done to rectify the issue.
We ordered coffee in the hope of salvaging the evening, only to be served cups that were, again, cold and clearly not prepared according to the order. Despite multiple requests, it took a considerable effort to get management to attend our table. When they finally did, we were met with excuses rather than accountability. Offering two complimentary coffees for a $500 meal that failed to deliver on every front felt dismissive and insulting.
Only after considerable persistence did we receive a partial discount from the manager. Regardless, the damage was done. This was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve encountered — and as an industry professional who judges for the Award of Excellence program in NSW, I can confidently say that Osso falls drastically short of industry standards.
We will not be returning, nor would we recommend this restaurant to others seeking a quality...
Read moreDefinitely wouldn’t come back. I don’t like to give negative feedback as I like giving positive feedback to businesses but in this case I will give a brief overview of my experience. My friend and I ordered steak, both cooked well done when we didn’t ask for this. Asked the waiter and was told it was medium how we asked it to be. I’m a big fan a steak and I know what’s cooked well and what’s cooked medium. Small plate of salad came out, asked about another one for my friend was told one plate per table. Fair enough, our steak and salad was out called the waiter over and asked where our hand cooked fries were, advised that she will go check. Came back 15 minutes later letting us know that they are cooking a fresh badge. No worries, we waited another 10 minutes called the waiter over than she advised she will go check. At this time my friend and I were like what’s the point we have finished eating our meal which was not worth any bit of what we paid. Waiter came back letting us know it wouldn’t be much longer. Obviously they forgot it happens but we had to keep following up with the wait staff. We were getting frustrated but decided to wait. Basically we waited 35 minutes after we finished our mains well just a steak and salad for just for a small plate of chips not to mention one per table as well as the salad. This place is well overpriced, give it a try but we won’t be going back. Staff were looked happy and were polite. Environment was nice but service we received with our food...
