Ozeki Bowl Macquarie — Restaurant in Sydney

Meh experience. I ordered like a mix of beef and chicken bowl and boy did I regret it. I think it is a little bit overpriced for the quality of food they serve because my chicken was somehow a bit purple which I don’t know if it’s normal or not and the sauces were VERY questionable 😭 The mustard thingy was very runny and the food that my sister ordered was even worse. By the way there were SO MUCH grease and oil. After a the food got a bit cooler the oil started sticking to the inside of my mouth 😨 and I tried wiping away a bit of the oil from the bowl but there were so much I separated the meats from the bowl, wiped a bit of the grease of the chicken and it tasted better. You also have to sit between a bunch of crowd full of trash but I don’t think this place can...

The last two reviews were unfairly harsh, and were likely more due to anger from losing a place to get very cheap food. Spitefully trying to ruin people's livelihoods.

As such, I will focus on the good parts.

Greatest improvements were atmosphere and service. The new owners seem like wonderful people, and are full on in serving all customers. The new lighting is warm and inviting. Food options have changed, it's no longer just the Yatai Ozeki standard menu, and I've tried Unagi Donburi and the Beef Ramen. Haven't gotten sick even once. Food is still filling and tasty, and is still the cheapest Japanese (non-sushi) option in the Centre. The taste won't blow anyone's minds, but I quite enjoyed both dishes, as well...

Food has been ok but today’s experience really shocked me.

When the special sign has been on for a while and all the foods are already on top of the glass counter for a while, I purchased a bowl plus a snack which is supposed to be 12+4 dollars.

But later I realised they charged me 19 instead of 16. Going back and asked the question, the girl and dude speaking Korean to each others to confirm something and then told me in English it’s because the purchase I’ve made was before special price.
