Visited LiLong Restaurant 4 times in the past month. • It is my client’s favorite restaurant. • We visit with a client who has developmental delay and social difficulties for life skills and meal training. • Consistently poor customer service across all 4 visits with different staff members. • Staff were not welcoming or accommodating, particularly regarding our client’s special needs. • After explaining the purpose of our visits, staff showed not only a lack of understanding but also hostile attitudes. • As a disability therapist, I am disappointed by the treatment my client experienced. • The customer service was poor, especially toward individuals with difficulties. • I do not recommend this restaurant and do not consider it disability-friendly.
We have visited LiLong Restaurant four times over the past month, as it is one of my client’s favorite places to dine. I accompany my client, who has developmental delay and social difficulties, for meals and life skills training purposes. Unfortunately, during all four visits — with different staff members each time — we have consistently experienced poor customer service.
In particular, we found the staff to be unwelcoming and unwilling to accommodate or even acknowledge the special circumstances of our visit. Despite explaining the purpose of our visits and the needs of our client, not only did staff members fail to show understanding or empathy, but their attitudes became noticeably worse and, at times, even hostile.
As a disability therapist, I am deeply disappointed by the environment my client had to endure. In my opinion, the service we received was not only lacking in professionalism but also demonstrated a disregard for inclusivity and respect towards customers with additional needs.
I do not recommend this restaurant due to their poor service and lack of understanding. Based on our experience, I do not consider LiLong Restaurant or its staff to be...

🔍 We’ve always loved the OG Taste of Shanghai spots, so when we heard about Lilong — their more refined, atmospheric version — we had to try it. Came highly recommended for dumpling lovers and cocktail-sippers alike.
🪑 It feels elevated without losing the soul of a good noodle house.
🤝 Efficient and polished service. Food came out hot and in good rhythm.
🥟 Dumplings
We came for these, and they didn’t disappoint. Juicy, tender, perfectly pleated — we tried a few varieties, but the xiao long bao were the standout. That burst of rich broth and pork in one bite? Unreal. Definitely worth the careful chopstick manoeuvre.
🍃 Raw Beef on Betel Leaf
Unexpected but so clever. A flavour bomb of raw marinated beef, stacked on a fresh betel leaf, with a hit of herbs and house-made sauce. One bite — spicy, savoury, fresh. It had this surprising beer flavour note that lingered in the best way. A fusion dish that actually works.
🍜 Noodles
Hand-pulled and with just the right amount of chew. The sauce clung to every strand, whether you go for the spicy beef or dry-style with chilli oil. Comforting, flavourful, and generous in portion — you’ll want to keep slurping.
👀 Next time? I’m coming back for the crispy duck I spotted on the next table. And maybe one of their fancy cocktails to level things up.
✅ Lilong by Taste of Shanghai nails that rare balance: traditional flavours with a contemporary edge. Come for the dumplings, stay for the surprises like that betel leaf dish — and don’t leave without trying their hand-pulled noodles. A solid pick for date night, group dinners, or anytime you want Chinese food that feels a...
Read moreWe planned to have a quick / nice lunch on a recent weekend in this mall located restaurant. We ordered a few dishes like fried rice, stir-fried rice cakes, stir-fried pork jowl with black pepper sauce and their specialty pan-fried pork/prawn dumplings. We like all dishes in terms of taste and price / portion size. The place ambience is also reasonable for Chinese restaurant in a shopping mall - you can't expect much, but it is clean place. You can pay by credit cards.
However, we had bad experience with an aspect of the customer service. Similar to our bad experience in its Chatswood branch, the restaurant staff members need to be better trained in customer service. We planned and expected to have the dumplings as the entree dish or at least delivered almost in same time with other dishes to enjoy them together. However, the dumplings were delivered at the end of our meal and after we finished having the other three dishes. We checked after about 25 minutes enjoying the other three dishes and the waiter told us that the outstanding dumpling dish was popular and in long queue / wait. We wanted to cancel but he said it was being prepared already, but we still need to wait another 10 minutes to wait and take it home as take-away dish. This is unacceptable and the waiter should have told / warned us when we made our order that the dish might be delivered long after the other dishes or might have longer wait time, so we could make informed decision before...
