When it comes to iconic, must-try food spots in Sydney, Paul’s Hamburgers is in a league of its own. For over 35 years, this humble yet legendary establishment has been serving up some of the best hamburgers not just in the Sutherland Shire, but across Sydney, NSW, and dare I say, all of Australia. The name “Paul’s Hamburgers” is synonymous with quality, nostalgia, and a taste that simply cannot be matched.
Having been a loyal customer for over three decades, I can confidently say that Paul’s Hamburgers is a quintessential part of the local culinary landscape. Every visit, whether it’s for a quick bite or a treat on a lazy weekend, is an absolute pleasure. The hamburgers at Paul’s are not just food—they’re an experience. From the moment you take your first bite, you’re transported into a world of rich, mouth-watering flavors that have been perfected over years of dedication. The patty, made with premium beef, is always juicy, tender, and cooked to absolute perfection. The seasoning is spot on—never overpowering, just enough to enhance the natural flavors of the meat.
But what truly sets Paul’s Hamburgers apart from any other burger joint in Sydney is the attention to detail in every component. The buns are soft, fresh, and perfectly toasted, providing the ideal vessel for the generous fillings. The vegetables are crisp and fresh, and the toppings, from the creamy mayonnaise to the tangy pickles and sweet onions, are always thoughtfully balanced. Whether you prefer a classic cheeseburger or a more elaborate creation with all the trimmings, each burger is crafted with the utmost care and quality. Every bite is a testament to the years of expertise Paul’s Hamburgers has honed to deliver a consistently outstanding product.
Not only is the taste unbeatable, but Paul’s Hamburgers also delivers incredible value for money. In an age where dining out can often be overpriced for subpar food, it’s refreshing to find a place that offers high-quality, satisfying meals at reasonable prices. You get more than your money’s worth here—every burger is generously portioned, filling, and absolutely delicious. The service is friendly and fast, and the team at Paul’s Hamburgers always greets you with a smile, making every visit feel like coming home to an old friend.
It’s no wonder that Paul’s Hamburgers has stood the test of time and become an institution in the Sutherland Shire and beyond. The combination of exceptional food, quality ingredients, and friendly service has created a loyal following of fans, myself included, who return again and again for the unbeatable taste and value. It’s the kind of place you bring your family to, introduce your friends to, and cherish for years to come.
In a city overflowing with burger options, Paul’s Hamburgers continues to stand tall as the best in Sydney, NSW, and Australia. It’s a testament to the fact that when you stay true to quality, flavor, and service, the result is something extraordinary. If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of experiencing the magic of Paul’s Hamburgers, do yourself a favor and pay a visit—you’ll be hooked from your very first bite. Trust me, no burger in Sydney can quite compare to what they serve up at Paul’s Hamburgers. It’s not just a meal—it’s a...
Read morePaul's Hamburgers (undeserving of the title famous) was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've ever had.
To start with, the staff are uninviting and do not seem to appreciate any customer that walks in. They're also only a cash only business, and want you to withdraw cash from their conveniently placed ATM (which you need to pay a fee for). They do this undoubtedly under the guise of maintaining an (old fashion) style of Business, however it would truthfully be to escape taxes. They may suggest to do a pickup order on uber eats or Menulog, but the cost of items are doubled.
The only reason I haven't given it 1 star is because the food itself is reasonably priced, and most menu items are under $10.
The food itself is extremely distasteful, the chips are undercooked and unsalted. The burgers are extremely disappointing, the produce tastes old and the meat is clearly frozen and unseasoned. They don't toast the buns enough, so the burger goes soggy. Finally I'd also recommend not to get "Paul's special sauce" on the burgers, it's awful.
The restaurant is covered in faded and old newspapers (none newer than 2015 from my observation) about awards Paul's Hamburgers has won. And whilst some of the pre-2010 newspapers are interesting to see, they show that Paul's truly has fallen behind and become lazy.
If you're around the area, I'd highly recommend Sylvania Family Indian restaurant, Elate Gyros Souvlaki bar, or Tom Ugly's Kebabs. Until the team at Paul's puts effort and love back into their work, it's simply a waste of money.
FINALLY - The staff had no contract tracing in place for dine in orders, did not social distance, did not ask customers to social distance, and were not visibly keeping sanitary. All the more reason to avoid it, especially...
Read moreSeating/Environment: The place does not have a lot of seating, but there are nice areas around the place where you are able to enjoy your meal. A lot of people often take-away their food here.
Payment: The place only accepts cash. There is an ATM machine in there where you can withdraw money but there is a withdrawal fee.
Staff: Overall pretty nice and friendly.
Food: The food comes out very quickly. I have been there many times and all the burgers there are pretty decent. The burgers are also filled to the brim with ingredients. The buns there are a bit too soft for my liking, I would personally like the buns to be a bit toasted but that is just personal preference. When eating the burgers, it can get a bit messy so be prepared.
The chips there are also very nice and crunchy. The serving portion is also very generous. However, sometimes the chips can a bit too overly salted.
They also have drinks such as milkshakes and their freshly made pineapple juice which is not too sour and are decently priced.
Overall: I would highly recommend giving this place a try if you are around the area and are looking for something that is very decently priced,...
