We go to this Cafe at least once or twice a week for a brunch, we love the outdoor atmosphere and affordable breakfast here.
However, recently, the service level has dropped significantly, just in the last three visits, they had my order wrong, forgot the order and gave us the wrong dish.
It takes forever to order sometimes because the person on the POS is not really good.
No one ever smiles and when I advise them of the wrong or delayed order, they were very unfriendly and nuanced that I was in the wrong.
For example, my coffee order was delayed by over 20 mins, I went over to the counter to check my order and the Barista kept insisting that she's already made my order. After telling them I didn't receive my order numerous times, the person on the POS told me that they'll make one right away for me.
Another example is, when we ordered a Brekky roll, the waitperson brought us a Brekky wrap and we told her that we ordered a Brekky roll, she insisted that we ordered a Brekky wrap not the roll. We asked her to please check again, she went back to the receipts and took the order to the other table and didn't even bother to apologise for getting it wrong.
Today was the last straw for me. It was a hot day at around 11:00am, we ordered our food and ordered Iced Long Black, but they told us that they don't have ice. I understand that things like this could happen, but then I saw the iced drinks being served as we were ordering. I get that they are busy and it's a hot day and things can be frustrating for them as well. But I think they could have been at least apologetic about it or give a little explanation (e.g. ice machine not working, broken, or will take xx mins to make more ice etc.)
I feel the service is worse on the weekends and feel like they are not bothered whether they'll lose customers over a bad service as it's usually quite busy anyway.
Seriously, you're a cafe in a tight community, with 4 other cafes competing within the proximity, perhaps lose the attitude and be nice to your locals for...
Read moreMy English is not that good, but I know the basics like ordering a meal, at the checkout I ordered 2 plates of eggs Benedict (both plates the same with bacon and cheese) I spent several minutes at the checkout because the person who was there did not understand what "BOTH PLATES THE SAME PLEASE" means, he proceeded to show me the screen where he was billing and I saw it but it is their billing system and it is not easy to understand for everyone, so I proceeded to repeat the order again, it should be noted that he was 0 patient and made gestures of stress and scratched his head showing me that he was annoyed with my order, once the order arrived at the table, a plate arrived without bacon, so we proceeded to tell the waitress that the 2 plates should be the same, with bacon and cheese both, she responded telling us that she will verify, a minute later the person who took my order arrived, telling me that HE HAD SHOWED ME THE SCREEN, to which I replied that I made a mistake, and I asked him to tell me that he had ... order and that understanding the screen was not my job, we simply wanted him to add the bacon to the other plate and that was it, the person did not solve us and simply took the food away and told us to leave, to which my friend reacted and a strong argument ensued, I have worked in customer service for several years and what I am going to say is that EVERYTHING is wrong with this place, from the moment I placed the order I noticed that something was going to go wrong, it cost him nothing to tell us, calm down I will just put the bacon on the other plate and THAT'S IT. The worst experience I have ever had in my entire life in a restaurant and it should be noted that I have been in Australia for 2 years so I know perfectly well how to order something in...
Read moreAn outdoor cafe situated in the heart of Wentworth Point. This pierside gem cafe is where it all started for me when it came to Wentworth Point. An outdoor cafe and the ONLY outdoor cafe if you ask me is situated only steps away from the wharf away from the hustle and bustle of Wentworth Point.
What makes PIER POINT cafe special is the coffee is always tasteful. Mind you, reasonably priced too over the 8+ years I have been living in the area. Wentworth Point has grown over the years and this cafe has remained steady with its pricing complimented with its amazing friendly staff and the exceptional service.
Thank you and a special thank you to Evaann. Always nice popping in especially the days when I am going to catch the ferry and taking away my coffee to sip away. See you tomorrow morning just before I catch the...
