We went due to the 4.5 star rating. We ordered dips, and two 'off the grill' items: barramundi (mash and salad) and Scotch fillet with rice and salad. The pita and dips were excellent. However the 'grilled' fish was bad - very bad. The fish tasted watery. Like it was thrown frozen on to a grill. It was not crispy on the outside and not well cooked inside. The salad tasted like (literally) pre-packaged supermarket salad thrown on a plate. No dressing, slightly wilted and no favour. The mash was ok - just. I was appalled as fish is not that hard to make and the dish cost $30. The steak was ok, but not great and that cost $38. On service: the waitress was super nice. But the food also took ages to come out, although the place was quite empty (about 2pm). We got no cutlery, serviettes, or salt/pepper, which the fish needed badly. Also, the doors were open so the whole time we were shooing three or four flies buzzing around our food/drinks. Summary: Perhaps other things on the menu are better, but the stuff we had was so average, with the fish bordering on inedible. I don't mind paying, but I do expect some...
Read more"Can I ask you an unusual question?" ...hmmm, when the owner of the food store asks me this, it usually ends with either an ethnic reference, that I can't determine is derogatory or curious...or to recommend their fave rhinoplasty surgeon (true story). In this case the owner was trying to pay tribute to the local designer of my shirt, to decorate his next place...I'm sure the artist will be rewarded. Hopefully, said artist will at less score some free food from here. After plying me with free purim raki...maybe Turkey was once home to my and his ancestors. Nevertheless, it did go down a treat...come to think of it, that's not a million miles from telling me I need rhinoplasty. The food is fresh and tasty, though the laffa is not the fresh pillowy dream that it is in tel Aviv.. this bread needs careful storage, and really doesn't last more than a few hours. That aside you'll do well here, and hopefully you'll be spotted by the owner, for a...
Read moreLovely restaurant with cosy dining inside and out the back too, we ordered takeout as we had a dog with us. when we ordered takeout we hadn’t realised there was outside seating and asked if we could dine in instead, they were super accommodating and set up a table with candles and even offered to make the food on plates instead of takeaway. The waiter who served us was super friendly and he was very good at his job. He was outstanding at his job and made us feel well looked after. Another table next to us even ended up sitting outside with a dog which was also great. Really great to see them be so accommodating after spending a decent amount of money there. Food was delish and will deffs be back for more! And thanks to the 2 guys who said it was okay for our doggie to...
