Blue Monkey Thai Rose Bay — Restaurant in Sydney

I’ve posted on here previously and said I’d give them 6 stars given the option. I’m wondering whether the owners, head chef or supplier may have changed as I feel the quality has dropped. We love this place and order at least twice a month every month but recently we’ve been left disappointed.

Firstly the price has gone up and they now don’t deliver in the nice neat paper bags just the white plastic one, dropping standards.

Secondly, the Massaman beef curry sauce was way too watery, I remembered this being a delicious thick tasty sauce that came with amazing Roti bread, but this is no longer included, there is also a surcharge on top of the set price for this dish.

On a positive note the ladies on the phone are always polite and kind, I prefer when they don’t read my card number back incase someone in the shop is listening. We’ll still continue to order from here but now feel they need to up the game again and bring back the higher standards we used to love. The strong competition in the area such as Table 43 and the Indian restaurant seem to have overtaken BlueMonkey in quality and value for money. Happy to re submit my review if the next meal we order is back to your usual fantastic quality.

Ordered Home Delivery yesterday - Pad Thai chicken, Curry puffs and Beef Fried Rice. Delivery was unusually fast, portions were big and Curry Puffs were good. That's were good part ends. The Pad Thai and fried rice looked like they were cooked not immediately - it's impossible for noodles to take form of container in 20-30 minutes of delivery. Looks like dishes were pre-cooked in the beginning of the day or even day before, pre-packed and re-heated.Beef rice was blind and almost tasteless - not what you would expect from Thai restaurant,almost no veggies. Overall both dishes were not even quality of cheap Thai food stop on Bondi Junction. This wasn't first time I am ordering from Blue Monkey - previous deliveries were better, but rice dishes were still not the top notch, you would expect of 'not your average Thai restaurant'.

It will take a very long time till I will order from this...

We have once again experienced Blue Monkey's poor service. We will NEVER order from Blue Monkey again. They lack communication and honesty. We have placed large orders, just to be told that they have delivered when they had not. We have had orders that are to be delivered within the hour, two hours later we are still waiting. We have had short orders etc etc etc.

They do not deserve our business.

We have not ever receive an apology.
