We got served by a rude tan lady in the bar. Not a single smile, gave us dirty looks when we asked for specific preferences for our meals, she assumed we (2) were only ordering two meals even though we had a 3rd person, and she got the eftpos machine ready. Hello? We may want to order more?

My chips were over cooked. Very crispy and crunchy to the point where it is basically only batter. Same with the schnitzel. The whole thing was bent like a V (literally bent, I wish I got a photo), and half of it was so overcooked, you couldn't even cut it with a knife. Plus, it was only 15% chicken. Rest was batter, which was extremely overcooked. Like the chips.

The place itself was old, dirty, and very unorganized. I walked in there confused as to where to go, where to sit, etc. it's like there are multiple restaurants in the place, but there is actually only 1.

Bad experience. Don't recommend. Go nextdoor to Royal.

Edit: responding to the response. This is NOT a false review. We were there at 5pm for dinner, and got served by that rude woman. We are a family of the community, we have nothing to do with other hotels. I am just recommending a proper good hotel to go to so everyone doesn't waste their money. Your response also further proves why no one should go to Plough. Owner is rude and claims all bad reviews as false. I am a community member like everyone else here. I don't own a hotel or even work at one. If you take this any further, I have proof of where we were sitting that night and the time and the three of us....

DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE DIETRY REQUIREMENTS. STAFF DO NOT CARE AND WILL GIVE YOU WHAT THEY FEEL LIKE.

They felt it was ok to substitute the sauce for something else without our knowledge. My sister cannot eat anything unpasteurized and they gave her hollandaise sauce without informing her. When i questioned the staff if it was pasteurized they informed me it wasnt. This poses a health risk to my sister and the staff didnt care. Offered to refund the food but no proper apology or anything. Becareful when eating here because you wont know what you're getting.

Update: your staff are complete liars. No one accepted hollandaise sauce because no one was told that was the only option. We were told by the manager when we ordered that bearnaise was available because it came with the salmon, her words and Aiden who served my mother can confirm. My sister was given the wrong sauce without being advised and only I was told there was no bearnaise because no sauce was put on my plate so I opted for mushroom sauce. My sister is pregnant and would have declined the substitute if she was infact told seeing as it's not pasteurised and could harm her unborn baby. Your staff lack competency. Due to your disrespectful response you don't even deserve 1 star.

Update 2: then your manager doesnt know the menu, i have 4 witnesses so maybe train your staff better before you hurt someone.
