For lahmacun-lovers: Amazing ground beef pita (on flat pitta bread = kıymali pide); it tastes like lahmacun! I also let them cook it with an addition of an egg on it. Ask also to include slices of onion with sumac and parsley to put on top or wrap in it. I went there twice and ate the same thing as in my first visit cuz I really loved the ground beef pita with an egg. So, I am yet to try the kebabs, especially the Iskender (means Alexander). I unfortunately never had an edible Iskender in overall Sydney for 21 years; those that I (couldn’t) eat were a shame to the reputation of a real Bursa Iskender and nothing close to what an Iskender is! From the reviews, I think I will also try the lamb shish next time. I am not sure whether I would risk the Iskender despite there is a very good review on it, as I am not sure that the reviewer knows what an Iskender is! It is normally so delicious with not soaky but still very soft pides under the soft, almost creamy leaf beef, small Inegöl meatballs that are topped with yogurt (not garlicy) with just a bit of hot tomato sauce and sizzling foamy...
Read moreThe mixed grill & Baba ganoush we received was disappointing. $37 (via door dash) for a tray of tomato salad, soggy and rock hard bread with tiny meat portions. Very sad. The lamb was lovely but 3 small pieces is a joke. The Baba ganoush arrived hot & exploded everywhere when we removed the lid. Worst of all it tasted very acidic like spoilt milk so that went in the bin. I understand takeaway delivered food will never match the quality of eating in but mean portions & inedible sides has lead me to write this. A shame for us as it seems the majority of the...
Read moreBest kebab I've had in Sydney. Yes, it's a big call, but this kebab truly restored my faith in kebabs. The generously apportioned meat is tender with none of the dryness or saltiness you get elsewhere, the salads are fresh and crunchy, and it's all topped off with a delicate garlic yoghurt that is 1000x better than the usual stuff squeezed out of a bottle. Nourished inside and out, I am now reminded that a kebab can actually be a healthy, filling meal at any time of day - instead of just a drunken last resort. Thanks...
