How can a takeaway order for two sandwiches take 50 minutes? This place is a miserable representation for hospitality.

Fully conscious that it is a public holiday, we ordered the takeaway online thinking that it would be more convenient and quicker. It was quoted that the order would take at least 25 minutes.

I arrived 10 minutes beforehand, and I then proceeded to wait for another 20 minutes. Only once I asked at the 40 minute mark, did the staff realise that they forgot about order. There were at least 5 groups of people who came after and received theirs before me.

I was not offered a genuine apology other than a comp card (which I did not accept) and that they were busy? I find that having three front line staff and at least 6 kitchen staff - you can do better.

Food was nothing mind blowing and factoring the price and the pathetic customer experience, I may as well have walked down the local grocer and make my own 5 ‘swiches’...

Our biz is one of solving puzzles. Whether it be "how do we make damp hidden holes packed?" Or "how do we get people to rave about a $42 plate of tripe?" Our industry is all about answers. Here they answer the "how do we get people to happily give $16 for a veggie sandwich?". The answer is a bit of plain sense, and a dose of magic. The owner is, (as am i) the spawn of a good operator in hospo. The space has had more design consideration than a Merc. The product gets the acid, cream, crunch and tear textures right. The other tables have less respect for their arteries, and their tastebuds seem to enjoy the schnitzel and toastie offers. But the magic is in the leadership. The concept may multiply like 2 flies in a jar. If that's its destiny this young buck will need to find a way to grow the culture I observed, like a cure to a disease...which in essence is what it can be. That magic, as Merivale has shown us, is actually...

World class sandwich and service.

My wife Kim and I went to S'WICH for the first time last Saturday and we went back twice during the past week. I had the eggplant schnit sandwich with roasted carrots and had the same reaction like when I had grilled cheese for the first time. WOWWWW!!! The sandwich was so delicious and the carrots brought it to another whole level. I'm vegetarian but I don't really like carrots -- S'WICH carrots changed my perspective about carrots as their flavours were off the chart. All in all, our last three experience at S'WICH made me sit down and write my first Google review I've ever left for a restaurant.

If you want freshly made sandwiches with simple ingredients but done very well, S'WICH should be on top of your list. Go before they get...

Come here based on the high scores on Google reviews. The staff was friendly, both the tuna salad and chicken schnitzel sandwich were freshly made and generous servings. However, there is nothing special about their taste. From reading their reviews we were ready to be wowed by the schnitzel but its crumbs weren’t even crunchy, and the sandwich nor the salad were really tasty. We also didn’t like their bread. The experience was like buying tomatoes. They all looked fresh and great in the shop but let down by their tastes. It’s all in the produce. The music was way too loud in the shop. The setting is more like a fast food store than a proper cafe or restaurant.

Besides for the amazing vibe and energy at S'wich, their bread is something extremely special. Very soft, light and fluffy. Moving onto the schnitz - thick, juicy and delicious. Insane crumbs. Next we have the sauce aka peanut chilli crack. Sweet, savoury and everything in between. Peanuts add that extra crunch that we all love and needed. Overall fantastic sandwich. It’s sweet and large so I’d come hungry. Oh and how could I forget - order a side of crisps be that regular or sweet potato and their house pickles to boost that salty vibe. Owners are legends and have decked out the place beautifully with stunning decor and great music.
