We live in Gymea, so we thought we would try this eatery for the first time. There is seating inside for about 30 people on large timber benches at the tables, and stools near the window. The menu is quite extensive, with mains, desserts, and drinks. We ordered 2 mixed platters with rice, to share between 3 people. It consisted of various meats, falafel, hummus, pickles, radishes, Lebanese bread, and another dip. It was quite filling, even though the serving size didn't look that big, and we finished everything. Prices were $31.00 per platter, so it should have been $62.00...but we got a 5% discount for paying cash, so it was around $58.00 in the end. We were there at about 5.30p.m on a Saturday night, the food came out reasonably quickly, and tasted OK. There is parking right outside. Not sure if there is a toilet..this is more of a takeaway place.
Pros; 5% discount for paying cash. Food tasted OK.
Cons; No water offered with eat-in meals. They need to improve customer service; be more friendly. A bit expensive..a whole charcoal chicken is $28.00 !
We were glad we tried it, but probably wouldn't eat...
Read moreThe Garlic dip is too sour, the wait times are very long, the portions are very small compared to what I'm used to from other competitors of Lebanese cuisine and is over priced in relation to the size of the mixed plate amongst many other things. The seasoning is also not the best especially with the tabouli.
When Compared to other Lebanese restaurants Like Al-Aseel in Greenacre, Lazeez Lebanese Cuisine in Lakemba which are my personal favourites (Their mixed plates are to die which include generous portions) or Jasmin/Yasmin restaurant in Punchbowl and Lakemba this truly falls short of being great even though Sammy's may be the best Lebanese food in the shire it just really isn't worth it in my honest opinion.
Despite the fact that I have two first names that make me sound like a white guy I am of Middle Eastern Heritage and have been eating food like this my whole life, some people on these reviews seem to really like this place which is cool, Each to their own but I think those people just haven't had the best Lebanese cuisine...

I wouldn’t have proceeded with my order if I knew it would be a 40 minute wait for two burgers. There was nothing wrong with said burgers but they were below average and certainly not worth waiting for. Your restaurant had 6 diners seated at the time, and it would not have been unreasonable to think that I would have to wait this long. As a courtesy you should notify your customers if you have a significant load of Menulog and uber eats orders. Not once did you approach us to tell us why we were waiting, despite other customers directly notifying you of their frustrations.
Secondly, it is not ok to charge $1 per menu item extra if you choose to eat in, but not advertise the fact that you will do this. Your prices on the board do not state that they are take away only prices, nor do they state eat in prices would be in any way more expensive. This is against the law and I’m sure fair trading will be interested.
Overall, if you are hoping for a burger and chips....
