Was keen to get back here after long absence. My how its changed and for the worst. No smiles, no customer service. Trying to order food and was pointed back and forth where to order from. Should have taken the hint that there weren't many patrons . Kids meals came out first as we are custom to and were happy with. But then we waited for our meals, my wife spied them on the counter but there wasnt calls of order up or a ding of a bell. I wanted to go over an ask but my wife said wait. So I did and went to the toilet and was sure they would be out. But no....so I went to ask. After awhile it came out 10mins after. Chicken snitz was ok, but my wife's medium steak not an ounce of pink. Hard tough to cut or chew. Certainly not worth the $28 paid. If that was medium I hate to see well done would the whole thing be charcol Black? she never douses her steaks in sauce but to give the steak moisture she tipped the whole sauce on. I tried a piece and had to spit it out. I had to step away to the toilet again with our young son and a staff member came to get my plate whilst I was away. My wife said "umm I don't think he is finished". What happened to asking first before lifting the plate I wasn't finished. The toilets are very outdated and were the same as when we left the shire. Only they were once clean and smelt ok. Holy dooly at my wife's request she asked me to come into the toilets to smell the disable ones. wow just wow smelt bad and we couldnt let out daughter brush her braces in there. Not sanitary. My my how this place has...
Read moreLook, I’m sure this place is nice and all but I came here with a friend to watch my mate play in his band that was playing here, didn’t know you needed to be 18 to even enter the venue, or at least you needed a legal guardian, anyways walked in and immediately got yelled at asking for ID, which I didn’t have so I left, my friend who was playing came out with his dad to get us in just to watch him for like 30 minutes so we walked back in and got threatened with the police being called on us and getting yelled at to leave the premises even though we had an adult with us, my problem isn’t with not being able to get it it’s the staffs abhorrent attitude, the guy who told us to get out didn’t ask us nicely or inform us of the rules, just demanded ID, and we left, the second time they yelled at us and threatened us with the police for merely entering, a couple of pleased and low tone and this review wouldn’t exist, the 2 people at the front were incredibly rude and their attitude was NOT needed, was going to host my 18th here cause my friend told me it was good but if the staff are going to act like this then I’ll go elsewhere. Disgusting attitude.
Giving 2 stars cause at least the...
Read moreSaturday 12 October 24 Approaching, the end of my visit back home and having visited many different bars in the shire Gymea Hotel ranks as my number one best favourite place.
Drinks price✔ Food ✔ Staff ✔
$11 Margarita and the $16.50 Pepper Jack Shriraz - large size all time favourites.
We went there just to have a couple of drinks and catch up.
Drinks service is self service and there is a choice of venues to have your drink whether it be in the keno lounge the poker machines, dining and outdoor service areas it was very pleasant.
The outdoor seating area also has heaters which makes it very pleasant there's a bar out there and there's TVs and you can watch all the sports we can just sit there and chit chat .
For three drinks, a round was around $30 I guess. That consisted of a schooner of Resch beer of a light beer and a glass of Pino gris.
I've been there twice since I've been back and no doubt I will be there again.
The pictures show the Margarita and the Pinot Gris
