San Antonio Sourdough — Restaurant in Sydney

I've been to this café before, and the staff has always been remarkably friendly. However, today, I had an extremely unpleasant experience. I witnessed two pigeons in the food preparation area, one of them perched on the croissant tray, pecking at crumbs. I promptly informed the staff, who shooed the pigeon away. Unfortunately, they returned shortly after and flew into the establishment's kitchen area. To my shock, one of them flew out from the kitchen.

As if this wasn't alarming enough, as I was leaving the café, I observed a staff member shooing another pigeon from the coffee preparation area.

This is utterly repulsive and unacceptable. I requested to speak with the manager as I believe it's crucial to understand the café's cleanliness standards. Regrettably, this experience prevented me from finishing my breakfast.

I sincerely hope that immediate measures are taken to address this hygiene issue. I believe it's crucial for the health and satisfaction of your patrons. I trust that you will take this matter seriously and rectify...

Edit : Came here last week for breakki twice as I still really love this place. Prices are really great compared to other cafes in Balmain and the quality does not disappoint. My boyfriend is a picky eater and he said the ham and pulled pork (i think?) Sandwich was the best he has ever had. We definitely come back before leaving. The cashier was friendly and gave my boyfriend a charger as he urgently had to charge his phone. Such a lovely experience overall that I had to amend my review. Only a two because the coffee was nice. Relatively new to Balmain so out trying a few brekkie spots. Lived in coogee and the San Antonio bakery there is unreal. I’m afraid this is not.
